    Please apply for cocoon.io beta

stable Canvas+ with native AdMob ads will rock

(but now we have to find and report all bugs)

  • old Canvas+ was almost bullet-proof (everything was running from 1st start),

new Cocoon.io looks promising, but still have some issues to fix

  • C2 devs, it's still beta, so you can check if:

    • your apps starts in new Canvas+
    • your apps looks exactly the same in the new Canvas+
    • minification affects your apps with Atomic Plugins (i.e. native AdMob ads)
  • AdMob pays you for AdMob ads,

MoPub will pay you if you will use their ads from MoPub Marketplace

  • I'm just reading this tutorial:

    https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/1386/u ... ge-5#h2a15

    and I saw this quote:

[quote:15fxe0co]Exporting Using the Cordova Export (DO NOT MINIFY SCRIPT)

so my question is: why we shouldn't minify C2 apps while using AdMob ads?

without CocoonJS many devs would ignore Construct 2. Because serious people don't have time to wait till 2016 or 2017 or fighing with crappy browser-related bugs. And they don't need all browser options - they need SMOOTH games.

The best example of !$@#@$ approach is sound decoding issue in Chromium: it is 4x times slower - many people starred the bug - Chromium team knows about it for months - and nothing. They will do NOTHING with it. So audio in Crosswalk apps is decoding 4x times longer.

But this and similar issues doesn't matter for Ashley as long as most of his income is generated from education payments.

So I will repeat again: Thank you You are doing great job.

I will believe when I will see

some posts ago Ashley was advising using the newest version of Chromium

January 2015 - waiting for Atomic Plugins

February 2015 - waiting for Atomic Plugins. 26th - we got Atomic Plugins!

March 2015 - waiting for AP in Canvas+

April 2015 - waiting for AP in Canvas+

May 2015 - waiting for AP in Canvas+

    Ehh...

  • You do not have permission to view this post

  • C2 main limitation is 100% dependency on browser vendors,

who not really care about HTML5 games

The best example is Chromium and it's bugs,

that affect both desktop export (NW) and mobile export (Crosswalk)

you could ask sqiddster is it worth to start doing serious+big game in Construct 2...

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • when I see quotes like this:

[quote:1e6w6cil]I'm not really interested in testing old node-webkit versions, since Chrome updates usually improve performance

I have strong feeling that Ashley really lives in some alternative reality

[quote:1e6w6cil]With that said I have given up on submitting any bug report, I am not here to put all my effort to beta test C2 and develop tech demos to emphasize bugs, especially considering how easily and readily they are dismissed without investigating. C2 really is the worst in terms of support I have ever experienced in a paid software package. I think the team is just too small for the number of customers they have I guess.

    +1

AFAIK platformer behaviors are very demanding

and physics works terrible in Crosswalk [Android]

and Construct 2 use only 1 CPU core

and just remember: if you will have any problems with 3rd party wrapper, you will only hear advice about waiting for better future.

it seems like NLP approach for game making engines

but if they really did good working native exporters then... congratulations
