  • I was browsing SFGHQ years ago, and saw mention of construct. At the time, the SFGHQ community was using MMF almost exclusively (as was I), but I still decided to check it out. Construct was OK, but I didn't really pick it up. Some time had passed, and I saw mention of it again, so I checked it out again. This time, I stuck to it and really learned it. This was also about the time I created my forum account. (Man the site has changed since then :D)

From then, I have been checking up on Scirra's work about twice a week, and have been excited to see how far it's come. I have only dabbled in C2, but I hope it grows into something as amazing as CC did.

  • Sounds like a really neat way to encourage development for Construct Classic.

And yeah, the 50-50 thing sounds fine too, as Scirra did create Construct from the ground up.

  • Thanks for the link, Ashley.

Downloaded and installed it, and it gave the previously mentioned error.

Installed the runtime, and it works fine now.

  • Wow, nice changelog. I'm glad people have continued developing this

  • Haven't been here in a while. However:

[quote:i738nfo2]- [Fix] Kind of an internal fix: when removing private variables the family variables were not removed. This should prevent out of order family private variables and runtime crashes in the future, but it does not correct existing caps.(Rojohound)

My life is complete. I have nothing to say but thank you. My ONLY issue with this Construct 1 is now (hopefully) solved.

  • Construct: Web Edition ...

    ...

Definitely describes the product well enough.

Oh and yeah, I like CO2 as well Short and sweet, though it would be hell searching for it.

  • "40 for 2 years"

I personally don't mind paying up to $100 for C2, however, I absolutely LOATHE the idea of a 2 year license thing. Licensing systems like that is what keep me away from a lot of commercial engines today. I like to OWN what I purchase.

Please, please PLEASE do not go through with that.

  • I'm curious (and I don't think I'm the only one) but will this be able to eventually export to .exe and have directX support?

(Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I didn't see the answer when I searched.)

  • I was too lazy to comment on this when I saw it the other day, buuuuut....

I'm glad. I actually dropped by to see if a new version was released to fix the family/variable glitch (As it had happened again in a new project >____>). I had almost just left Construct entirely, to be honest, to switch to something more stable... but then I see this nice "C2 - Coming Soon" logo on the front page.

    My exact thoughts: "This!"

  • ]2007? Nothing happened on this feature? Shame, scrolling backgrounds need to be made easy please.

That would take forever. Maybe people could just look at the date before posting? <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /> Not to be like that about it, but cmon now.

(How do you end up on page 700 or whatever anyway, geez)

I'm guessing he DID look at the date, but thats just me >_____>

To be honest, I also thought this feature wasn't implemented. Sure would have helped with some stuff way back. (I should probably dust off my wiki-reading glasses D:)

  • Hmm, never knew that guide existed, lol. Kinda makes me wanna tackle it just for the heck of it.

  • Pretty neat. I made a .cap and scaled the volume from 0-100 on both linear and logarithmic scales, and logarithmic definitely sounds more natural.

  • Yeah, I had a phpbb forum that wasn't even popular but I got BOMBARDED with spambots. Like 10+ a day. It got so horrible I eventually disabled user registrations altogether...

However, there are some decent anti-spam mods available for phpbb3. You might want to check them out sometime. If anything, they'll decrease the amount of spambots getting past the captcha.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Construct doesn't currently support copying things between .cap files.

  • Yeah, I've been hearing about Minecraft for a while. I've seen people talk about it, saw screenshots, etc. I just thought it was some overhyped internet fad or something...

As it turns out, this game is... WAY better than it looks. I recently bought it and im convincing my friends to do so too (before it goes beta on Dec 20th).

Also, it looks good with texture mods:
