This game looks amazing, and yes I can see the potential for some serious addiction. From watching various videos I can already tell that I'd get sucked into it WAY too deep, and for that reason I won't be buying this game. Well, that and I can't afford the $14 anyway as I'm flat broke.
Well, 2 weeks later and he's now sold 341,100 copies.
Incredible.
What I find incredible... actually, strike that. What I find completely mind-blowing is that he's topped out over $350,000 dollars in sales in A SINGLE DAY.
Yes, that's THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS IN ONE DAY. For a game that isn't even finished, and still in beta . It's just so utterly ridiculous and awesome and... I don't even know. Talk about an indie success story. Hell, I don't think I've even made $350,000 dollars in my lifetime. When I heard that I experienced this strange mix of awe, bewilderment, and disgust. Hell, I still can't really wrap my head around it.
Anyway...
One other thing I think is rather amazing is that the game itself seems to be Turing-complete, as in it's actually possible to build a working computer using blocks of stone and such:
Yes, the guy who made the video is King of the Nerds and has way too much time on his hands, but still it's pretty damn impressive.
