  • Nooooo!!! Not the Titanic Theme!!!   <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Overall it looks pretty good. Seeing the Dwarf's breathe was a nice touch, and the snowing effect was done well.

    It's very linear, though. There is literally only one path that you can take and not a single platform to jump on that might lead to a more rare mineral deposit (I like the addition of mining, though).

    As far as combat goes the regular attack should have a bit more "knockback" to it. That is, when you hit the enemy they should be pushed backwards. The super attack, on the other hand, does this quite well.

    Thanks for the demo!

  • Could you please rehost the download link? It isn't working.

  • LOL What a dirty mind, so you've been fantasizing such a scene eh :X

  • ...one cup?

  • I thought it was your game at first.

    Oops... I should have made that more clear. No, I did NOT make this game. I saw a link to it on Reddit and I thought it was worth sharing.

    Thanks for the link, by the way.

  • Z-TYPE

    It seems to be a little buggy with Firefox but I haven't noticed any problems with Chrome (which would make sense, considering the whole "Chrome Experiments" thing).

    It's pretty fun. Enemies appear at the top of the screen with a word next to them and you have to type that word to destroy them before they reach your ship.

    Anyway... the page says that it was made with HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript. This is the first that I've heard of "ImpactJS". Is anyone familiar with it? The game runs very smoothly.

  • Will our previous saves work with version 0.15, or will we have to start a new game?

  • The puzzles are very well thought-out. Sadistic, but well conceived. Control is a bit frustrating but you get used to it.

    I like how you impose limitations on the character the further they go along. I'm guessing I made it pretty close to the end, but the game started lagging to a point that it was too annoying to continue.

    I'm running;

    Athlon X2 4400

    2.75g RAM

    Zotac Ion video

    (I made it this far)

  • I can't wait to repost it!   <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Only problem is without the Metroid aspect then all you have is a cliche space-trooper game. Eh.

    That's really unfortunate... <img src="smileys/smiley6.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    You clearly have both an appreciation for the original Metroid series and the knowledge/ability to make a fun (who HASN'T enjoyed the Minitroid Demo?) game based on the franchise.

    I guess there are just so many independent games out there that it is just going to become increasingly more difficult for anyone to stand out?

  • Dear Tom and other Moderators/Administrators;

    You guys are awesome. A certain amount of complaining is to be expected whenever change happens, but your efforts ARE appreciated.

  • Surely the post by maya29 is a spam bot. If it isn't, then I apologise but it reads like one.

    You're probably right. It makes me wonder though how the reputation system works? How could a spambot with one post have a rep of 127?

    ...sorry for being off-topic.

  • The gameplay feels just like it should. I played it back when you first posted the demo and I thought I left a comment, but I guess I didn't.

    Anyway... great work, good sir.   <img src="smileys/smiley16.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • For Colonial Marines I hope you can use the controller's screen as a motion tracker.

  • Sorry for being rude, Granhunter. The 2600 was my very first console so I'll be looking forward to seeing what you create in the future. (as simple as they were, I still love the sound effects from the 2600).
