    Soz for late reply.

I always use the latest Firefox and have quite a lot of addons installed, but your example still works fine for me.

Tested in IE and NW also, and all OK.

There has to be something locally that causing this for you, but it will be hard for us to help if your examples work for us, unfortunately.

Alright, how do I check locally? Downloading r199 now, btw.

Edit: still get the error in r199.

  • I tried in chrome, but could not see error, I can see test "Level1".

Ok, so it works in IE and Chrome.

  • Just thought I'd give a quick update, sorry if I'm bumping a necro post!

I'm taking the level design and flipping it 90 degrees into vertical platforming. However, I also want original level design. Some people have asked me to help after others volunteered, and I said I didn't need any more help, but right now, I think more designers would be beneficial for me.

I also welcome and accept critique and criticism of, and any ideas for, the game: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a07r4gdhlvpqg ... .capx?dl=0

An idea offered was to make it so the camera didn't let you see the enemies ahead, but moved with the rising fire. I initially didn't like this idea, but I think it could work for a bonus area or post-game challenge.

Ideas of my own include: a points system, lives, extra life item, secret areas, game over screen, different endings, and letting people mod the game. One way I wish to let people mod the game is a carousal selection of sprites: i.e., hit the 6 Key to change the enemies' sprites, hit it again to change the enemies' sprites again, etc. Ideas for sprites include different level themes: food, music, casino, etc.

The javascript error is not yet fixed, so the game can't be previewed entirely - only the title screen, manual, mode select screen, credits, and the individual levels. Savegame (which happens between levels) can't be previewed. But the cheat codes work now.

Lastly, let me know your name so I can add you to the credits! If you don't want to be added, though, that's fine. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile">

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • Police Barade because of all the enemies you get to kill with all the power ups, the difficult boss battles, and the insane backgrounds. The depth perception in the game is really good, too, it makes you feel like you're soaring high in the sky.

  • Nice cleavage, would mooshi mooshi with.

The art would work for a "retro style" game, for sure. Any other work?

  • Works OK for me.

Have you rested on different browsers?

    Have you disabled browser add-ons?

Which browser do you use? Doesn't work in Firefox with addons disabled, but works in IE now. I don't use other browsers (and only have IE because it's the default browser on here), so can't check them.

  • New capx, with just savegame layout.

  • I'm not sure. I updated the bug thread with info on how I get the error, though. What exactly is a javascript error, anyways?

  • Javascript error message attached. I just open Construct, go to savegames layout, run layout (or preview, as I like to call it), and get the error message.

  • Problem Description

When I preview the Savegame layout, or go to in the HTML5 exported game, I get a Javascript error.

Also in exported games, character won't move.

    Attach a Capx

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/aatmebrifl6yl ... .capx?dl=0

    Description of Capx

Entire game, but the Savegame is at the top.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

      1. Preview Savegame 2. Get Javascript error 3. Character won't move in exported games

    Observed Result

Javascript error window, character won't move in exported game (but will move in preview).

    Expected Result

No error, character movies in exported game just as in preview mode.

    Affected Browsers

    • Chrome: (IDK)
    • FireFox: (YES)
    • Internet Explorer: (YES)

    Operating System and Service Pack

Windows 7 Vista, graphics card is up-to-date

    Construct 2 Version ID

    r198 (64-bit)

  • cant move player at all. which is why i cant give you a list. it like asking us to turn on the car when there no gas no battery to trouble shoot the problem.

Not sure why controls don't work when they work in the preview. Try the capx: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a07r4gdhlvpqg ... .capx?dl=0

Javascript error still not resolved on the savegame layout (saving and loading screen), but I'm reporting it as a bug now.

  • Error is still persisting in preview mode. Construct is saving, not crashing. I think the jitter, lag before jumping, and random jump heights are due to the error, too.

  • The controls not working with me.

Javascript error, as far as I can tell. The controls work in the preview. Let me know of anything else not working, I'm making a list of errors to fix.

  • Been having similar problems as others. Error window popping up, Construct crashing, no saving when I hit Save, jittering, lag before jumping...it's really annoying. The worst is sometimes Construct will save, other times it wont - completely randomly, or so it seems.

  • Flamescape update: http://gamejolt.com/games/platformer/flamescape/51452/

Glitches are all fixed, devs who helped me out are in the credits. Player should move more smoothly left and right.

A few hours earlier, Construct didn't save again. Then when I opened it up again, a hour ago, to export the game update to GameJolt, all the changes I had were saved.
