  • ramones is right, the "WATERMELON CITY" sign is solid by inheritance. From the looks of things, you have that object in a family called "FamSolid" -- if any object in that family has the solid behavior, then all other objects in that family inherit it.

  • There's a large solid sprite that says WATERMELON CITY in it's way. (It goes invisible but you can still collide with it.)

    That's the level intro. It's not solid, doesn't have the Solid behavior.

    I made this game after seeing photos of drone attack aftermaths and after learning that someone used a drone to deliver pizza to himself. I figured it'd be a fun way to promote - sort of - a peaceful use of drones for pizza delivery.

    The game is an 2D auto-scroller where you navigate your way along a road, avoiding hitting the buildings on the way, until you reach the customer at the end. Five customers in total. There are two modes because I hate stories getting in the way of gameplay: one mode has the game's story unfold in cutscenes (yet to be made, still working on gameplay and level design), the other mode is just the game. But if while you play story mode you make it to a customer without hitting a building, you get a bonus stage. Otherwise, you just go to the next level.

    Art is not good, sound and music is absent, because I'm neither an artist nor a musician. You already know that, of course.

    A problem I've run into is screen jitter on the bonus stages. Not sure how to fix it, since I took out a lot of sprites and lowered the player's speed but the problem persists. Any advice or help would be great!

    1) maybe slow the players speed and make those blocks last longer as of now if pretty hard just to get to the first flames. the Flames could be improved by having more then one frame. So just make one or two similar frames. Add sounds. Google Royalty free Graphics and sound there are alot of free stuff you can use if you like.

    2) honestly i'm not going to go back and look but you just had so many layout and event sheets. you can simplify almost all your event with by using OR on conditions also by making use of sub-events more

    also here are some good tutorials to help you optimize your images and events. They should help you. if you have an android device check out any of my games in my signature both take up less then half the memory of your game and have way more images so it is something that you could really work on.

    Played it and I think it's pretty hard, but the game concept is nice just needs improvement. BTW that capx included 2 games. I recommend you to read the manual as there are a lot of tutorials that I think would help you get better with using Construct 2 as you have a lot of redundant Events and some that just don't need to be there or you made things more complex then they should be. like you have a different Layout for each Manual page . And it's a good think you took this off Google play as your game does not support touch and Google play is for Phones and Tablets. So your app would of been removed by google

    Also I recommend looking at how the templates included in C2 are done they are good at teaching how events and should be done.

  • As I stated in my other post you should look at what other games in that price range on android you can get full rpg's for that price. now we all also might be misunderstanding your game because how it was presented on Google play. What you had made it seem like a simple one world game where fireballs fall at you. That sort of game is not one that people would pay for normally on Google Play as there are alot like it. That is the reason people recommended maybe making in 0.99 or free because they just want to help you out based on their knowledge of the mobile markets. So don't leave thinking people are trashing your game we are just trying to help you out. So Good luck

  • You are right, graphics are not everything... but they do enhance the game greatly.

    I am not an good artist by any stretch of the imagination. I compensate by sticking to very simple but clean art.

    I would not focus on making money at all. It is pointless. Don't get me wrong, I do make money... but if you were to calculate it out into an hourly wage, I am pretty sure I would be making $3/hour.

    I know graphics do enhance games, but I'm not an artist and can't find anyone to make me art.

    Money isn't my point. I've made free games, but I want to start publishing games now. That's why I've choose $4 for the game: it's cheaper than the average indie game, which is usually $7-10.

  • Try animating the fire things, put some more detail into the player. Give some life to it by adding stuff to the background. Here's a video I often reference that gives some AMAZING tips to make your game "juicier" without a whoel lot of effort.

    I had a background at first but I couldn't make it look like a cave, so I scrapped it. Don't know how to animate the fire. Player is suppose to be simple, so what details should be added?

  • nickkname, I think you've missed my point. The game presentation is not there at all, I wouldn't pay 0,99$ (or even 0,10$) for this game, specially when there are so many high quality products out there for better prices. Plus, you're not giving the users anything to get them hyped about the game. We don't even know what the gameplay is like. A video would help, for example.

    Also, when I mean quality wise, I mean pretty much everything. The sprites look unpolished, the presentation is equivalent to a project I could make in 5 minutes, no offense.

    In complete honesty, the whole project looks unappealing and I wouldn't be selling it, nor would I be putting it online. This looks more than incomplete and I'm pretty sure you could do better. In short, this needs a lot of work.

    Again, not looking to put you down through my post but just to give you some motivation to keep working hard and improving. I'm also a beginner and I'm learning too, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but always know that I'm being sincere and well intentioned.

    How can the game look more complete? I don't have video capture to make a video, and the game is just a short one-level game and it is complete, by the way. Also, I've unpublished the game because I'll be putting the game on my site later for the Google Play reasons I already cited.

    And how can I get an artist who's willing to make me better art for money without getting distracted by his/her other art projects? Every artist I've contacted has either left me high and dry or didn't finish his/her work. If my art is bad but I can't find an artist, than I guess my games will just have bad art.

    I've already seen the Juice It Or Lose It video and I don't agree with its message. Graphics =/= good gameplay. That's why old games are just as fun to play as newer games like Red Dead Redemption and Super Smash Bros.: they got good gameplay, even if not all of their graphics are appealing.

  • Just spoke with Google Play Support. They said you can't download a game on your computer to the computer unless you have Chrome. I shouldn't have to download a new browser just to download games, so I'm going to make a website and host my game on there.
