    Is it me or the CW14 builds add these permissions?

    android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

    android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

    Is there a way to disable them? If I don't use them why are they included?

    I didn't have this problem with CW12

    I was able to verify this is part of Crosswalk 14 and not 12. This comes from the Crosswalk team (not us). I'll try to see if they have a reason for it.

  • Egyptoon - that's interesting. Your game was the baseline test we were using. On my Galaxy s3, the performance is the same as Skia Shell and about the same as Crosswalk 7.

  • dhondon - no. iOS will use the default WebView. Which device/OS version are you seeing issues on?

  • Crosswalk 14, which includes the Skia fix, is available now for building in the Intel® XDK. You are no longer stuck with Crosswalk 7!

    Special thanks to Ashley, Egyptoon , lola and everyone who participated in the thread. It was this community that helped the Crosswalk team identify the bug and get it resolved. Numerous people provided APK's, device types, and OS versions that replicated the problem. The Crosswalk team reproduced it with a known device/app and found the fix. It's been resolved now in Chromium source too.

  • Shared mode in google has been updated to the new version of Crosswalk 14 with the Skia fix. I know how it works under the hood, but it is up to the developer to decide if they want to use that or embedded.

    Shared mode IS AVAILABLE in the XDK right now. I'm hoping to have the embedded version of CW 14 with the fixes by tomorrow (but don't hold me to it).

  • Just wanted to update everyone. We've tested the Skia fix in Crosswalk 15 and Crosswalk 14. The Crosswalk team is doing final Q/A/test on the Crosswalk 14 version for the Intel XDK (hopefully this week), then we will fast track it into the XDK.

    They are backporting it to CW 14 at some point. Our team is trying to schedule meetings to see everything involved so we can get this to developers ASAP.

  • I've been away on vacation the past week+. I will touch base with the Crosswalk team to see what the status is. I do know Google had a patch, but it failed some tests and they are re-doing it.

    Any news about expansion files? There was some news long time ago and it all went dark since then.

    We have a plugin available, but there are some issues in Cordova builds I'm hoping to resolve soon. There also needs to be a Construct plugin for it too then.
