  • I don't see why you should try to make a UI in html. In games, we generally create all the artwork for the UIs and then add the codes behind them. For now I made simple menus, but always with monitor graphics behind them with effects and such. But I'm working on a project with a very complex UI, with dozens of monitors working as part of the rooms and a menu with a very complicated interface, all with hand-drawn graphics. It doesn't change anything compared to programming a traditional menu, you'll just need a lot of extra art. Here we are talking about graphic assets. The code is the same as in any area of the game. Doing it in HTML would only make your interface look like a website.

  • It's not a game, but it was made with construct 3.

I created the images of women with A.I, and the mechanical terminal was based on a sketch drawing of mine. I use construct 3 to do some animation projects too. I created some random scenario things using AdvancedRandom, choose, etc.

Using my drawings as a reference to create realistic images with A.I.

Video explaining some effects used in this first video. It's in Portuguese but you can activate subtitles.

  • Thanks for answering.

It was working with your video but not with mine, it took me a little time here to understand that my video link was coming after the = sign, differently than if I clicked on edit video, then I get the right url of the video, complicated. But thank you, it helped me a lot.

  • I know it's kind of a stupid question, but I really can't figure it out. I just found a topic here on the forum about gifs, it says to put a code but doesn't explain it. I use the button on the forum itself but there is a field to type something from giphy where I have already hosted my gif there, but I copy the link, copy the embed, everything doesn't work. The video is the same thing, I get the video ID from You Tube and it doesn't work either. Of course I'm making a mistake, can someone explain this to me in detail so that I can post gifs on the forum page and also videos? I made a post about my game, but without the gif I have, without the video it would be a very dull post. Just the video link doesn't draw enough attention.

Hello, Mechanizyng is a 2d solo project that I'm developing in construct 3.

It's a platform game with dystopian graphics and a lot of mechanical stuff. You control a creature with wings and must move through tight rooms with deadly traps. The project is still open to many ideas that may arise, but the central idea is that the phases are very short without very open areas, a claustrophobic scenario of very tight rooms and machinery tunnels, with many monitor screens and machinery elements with lights , smoke, dynamic sound, etc., all to create a very rich sound environment and realistic machine environment, or at least, that is the objective. Also the player is a disgusting or strange creature, a kind of large insect the size of a dog, who is in this complex as some kind of scientific experiment. This first demo is still using draft graphics, but many of the gameplay elements that will be part of the project are already there. In the demo we still don't see this entire machinery graphic, just using pure color textures made in the construct editor itself, as a draft for now, but in the video that I will also make available below we can see my sketches for the final look.

Below I also leave the itch.io link with a simple demo of how it is so far, any feedback is welcome.

It initially started as a project that was posted on Ludum Dare 54 Jam.

  • It looks really cool, I've already added it to my wish list and will buy it later. Very good to know that it was done in the construct. A great example of a well-made game apparently, at least the graphics are very interesting.

  • If the project 'Export file structure' is 'Folders' - which is now the default - then you also need to include the subfolder path in strings with audio file names.

It worked the way below, thank you very much.

    "FolderName/Audiofile"

  • I was here perplexed by this error. As the number of audio files for my game increased, I created subfolders within the sound folder. But in an event I was calling the audio by play (by name) instead of just play, this is because I type choose("audio1","audio2","audio3") ... and so I can have random audios played. Okay, I've done this before. But if I create subfolders, this audio, which is now in a sound subfolder, will no longer work if I use play (by name). It simply doesn't play the audio. Even if I call an audio just by name, without choosing, it doesn't find the audio if it's in a subfolder within the sound folder. Play by name only works if I put the audio inside the sound folder, but not in a subfolder. I racked my brain for hours to find out why the audio didn't play, as in other projects I created for testing it worked. So, I need these subfolders otherwise hundreds of audios will be impractical. How am I going to call them by name? Has anyone ever experienced this?

  • Hello. This is a layout I made of a futuristic scene using Construct 3. It's not a game yet, but who knows... The video is in Portuguese, but what matters, which is the initial scene, has no lines. The graphics are based on my handmade drawings.

  • Wouldn't it just be a matter of adding the export video animation feature to Construct 3? Instead of creating another separate product at an extra cost for users? I already use to record the pc screen when I want to create videos of animations that I make in Construct 3. Many people already use Construct 3 to create animations. We just need a video export, not one more product and one more cost. Please include in Construct 3.

  • This is awesome, I came close with your previous explanation, but something was really missing. You helped me a lot, thank you. That was amazing, sorry to take your time with this. I will study your example deeply to fix this well....
