    If there isnt much of a difference Ill take a look at functions, but failing that ill use groups.

  • Hello, I am currently developing a roguelike game, where every event you play is randomily chosen from a series of events.

    I am curious which you think would be the best way to include the random events...

    every event on its own layout

    every event in its own group on a single layout.

    I have created the game in both ways, and from a design perspective there are benefits to both ways, but I am curious if anyone knows what would be more efficient in C2, would it be better to have hundreds of layouts for events, or just a few layouts but masses of groups that are only activated if the player randomly chooses one?

    Whiteclaws: not sure what you mean by that, if you mean there are similar games out there, then yes I know, I am creating a rogue-like micro-manageable text adventure.

    But my game is a slightly new take on a rogue-like text adventure, I do not doubt there are similar games out there. But I am trying to create my vision, if you think there is an identical game to mine out there please point it out or offer something constructive rather than simply shooting down the concept without a real reason.

  • I feared as much, I have a cinematic that was created for my game and I am trying to find a good way of including it, it is quite long, so turning it into a jpg, or gif animation is far to large as there are over 1500 frames.

    Does anyone have any thought on how the cinematic could be incorporated?

    is it possible to incorporate a video file, avi, wmv or something into construct 2. So i could create a video introduction and have that play at the start of the game rather than creating the intro directly in C2?

  • Hello All,

    We are just coming up on the one week mark for the Kickstarter campaign and we have now exceeded 40%. At this point I am currently working on switching the majority of the prototype placeholder images over to the newer images BuKo Studios have designed. The intro for the main game is also in the works including animated cinematics and much more advanced look.

    I intend for these to be made available via the campaign in the coming week. Hopefully a playable version of the prototype will be complete soon as well once I have squashed a few more bugs.

    I am currently working on the introduction cinematics for my game and was wondering is it possible to import swf files or video files to run seemlessly in a game created in Construct 2?

    Thanks for any help with this query.
