  • ome6a1717 gah, too bad :/

  • bachrock if your planets are circular, your time will be wasted following my tutorial as it's needlessly complex. What was the problem with the youtube tutorial I sent?

  • Try Construct 3

  • Awesome! I'm looking forward to that, especially for image points etc.

  • delgado I think the only way then to do this is offline is to read the computer's clock. I don't think you can do this with vanilla C2, but there is a third-party plugin. (I'm not sure if it's out of date).

What you'd need to do is save the time before closing it, then saving it to webstorage, then when starting up compare the time now and the old time.

Unfortunately this can be easily cheated by changing the time.

  • You could set an event that drastically increases the flow rate and particle speed for the first few ticks. No idea if it will work.

  • There may be a simpler way by reading the PC's clock - but this will be able to be cheated very easily.

  • Sorry, I didn't get your for some reason.

So, if you're only using 20 planets or so, the only problem you are facing is choosing when to switch gravity. I remember a simpler tutorial on youtube that might help you out.

Now, if you are not using physics and want more 'circular' planets, I used invisible collisions composed of 'pizza segments' if that makes any sense.

  • It's not that nobody cares - I certainly do - it's just that unfortunately, Scirra has to decide whether to give this awesome functionality even though they won't be in control of its development, as opposed to not giving it at all. I certainly prefer the former, even though it means we are reliant on a third party to fix bugs. The only thing to do is approach the people responsible for Node - one of them has been on these forums at one time or another, in fact.

  • Interesting. In my mind, this is almost good news for C2 developers, as the market is terribly under-saturated.

  • try this (requires at least r123.2):

    1. select them all

    2. press enter

    3. set position

I have not actually tried this, but it may work.

  • Ah, I needed that link! Thanks, Val !

Tom , could you put that up like it used to be last year? Let's get it alive again!

  • I've slowed down a bit lately, at least in the how-do-i forum, because lately it seems to be filled with newbies asking questions that are either extremely frequently asked, or extremely vague. I'm guessing it's because C2 is becoming more popular (not a bad thing at all!) with the steam release, etc.

I might not be the only one with this mentality and if that's the case that might explain a bit of slowness. The forum's nowhere near dead, though!
