  • 1. You can do easily with events

    2. You can do relatively easily with events (I think this is in the FAQ, and maybe the explosion too)

    3. That would be nice, but you can fake it pretty well ATM.

    4. This is practically impossible. Flash is dying anyway.

    5. Could be useful, I guess... However I think you can actually do it with events by comparing the mouse X and Y.

    6. If you use dt properly, this should work fine...

    7. I find copying events easy... what do you mean?

    Just my thoughts ;)

  • Possibly with webGL and a custom plugin but certainly not without it. Unless of course you want to fake it with animation ;)

  • I guess that could work. Of course, it's not that much trouble asking them to press a certain key, right?

  • Just curious... When would you use this?

  • Every tick, add dt to the timer. That will give a nice timer that increases once per second.

  • I'd steer away from using 'every X seconds' for this type of thing. I think it's safer to use a timer.

  • Regarding your second request, what you are looking for is the 'Containers' feature, very commonly requested (It was in CC)

A way to work around this is to give all the 'child' objects an instance variable called 'ParentUID' or something, which is set to the parent's UID at the start of layout. Then, when you want to pick the child of certain parent, you can pick the parent with that UID.

In terms of attaching them together, image points are probably the best option ATM.

  • Most people use WebStorage to save data like this...

If I am being ignorant, sorry, I don't know much about this web tech stuff :P

  • Found construct 2 by this process...

School computer class > Game Maker > Hey, I want to make my own games! > Game maker sucks > Look for new game creators for a while > Construct 2 > Epic win.

First impressions of event sheet? Why did I use Game Maker this whole time?!?! Also, why has nobody came up with anything like this?

If I had to 'note' C2... I assume you mean 'vote'. I would say 10 / pi.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Think about the fact that every image has to be loaded into RAM...

  • Have you followed the beginner's tutorial and the Platform game tutorial? Simple concepts like this can be easily learned through following these tutorials.

Also, not sure what you mean by 'library'. This isn't GameMaker, every sprite has its own image library, if you will, in its animations.

  • Aridale is correct, choice one should work fine. You should keep to the same layout.
