• Hmmm... I doubt my knowledge of Construct extends that far, I'm afraid. I guess I'll have a mess about with these ideas... but I haven't done any 3D programming before. Actually, I haven't done any programing. I experimented with DarkBASIC but the sheer learning curve put me off, as well as that I was used to Construct's event system.

• Yep, I use the texture setter plugin in a fair amount of my games. And yeah, that game is the one I meant... I can't believe that it was made completely WITHOUT 3D models. You're right when you say I couldn't understand that...

• I was pretty sure that Construct had very limited 3D capabilities. And I was even more sure that it was impossible to create animations for the 3D models.

So I was wondering... why have I seen in the past games that certainly LOOK like they have animation? I've seen two... there was one which was based on a thumb war... I think it was deadeye's creation?... and another that I saw a video and screenshots on on one of the threads here... somewhere. It was a platformer with 3D levels, characters etc and I think the enemies looked like ants.

So is there a way to achieve 3D animation?

• Ah, the second was the charm! Thanks.

• Yea, it's another one of my stupid questions... :P

I'm simply trying to set the width of an object to a private variable of another. I've got SpeedControl.Value(speed) but it says "speed is an unrecognizable system expression or usable object name".

What am I doing wrong?

• Yea, I was looking at the website before. According to some of it's users on their forums however, it seems its still relatively unfriendly to non-programmers such as myself.

• I was just curious, but is there any "non-programming" 3D game creators out there that I don't know about? I know of 3D RAD, and another simply titled 3D Game Maker but I had troubles with RAD with model importing and 3DGM just looks crap.

I always thought Construct would work well with 3D (proper 3D, not the support it has now). I know 3D game creation is probably still far above my reach, but I was... just... curious.

• Very nice game, I like the graphics! I have to say though that Dropbox is far better than Media Fire.

On the turret issue- so you have the turrets set with the physics behavior? Why not just have the base of the tank with the physics behavior and the turret just set with the turret behavior while events keep it on the tank object at all times.

• Um... you don't mean ZBrush, do you? Because that's the complete opposite of free...

I like it DravenX! I only wish I could get ZBrush, but the massive price completely put me off.

• You could also try Webs, but I quickly migrated from there after it glitched up big time.

• Hi! This is an interesting game, with a unique twist.

Well, I wouldn't say it's impossible. It did take me awhile to understand how to control the rocket, but it is difficult still to control the rocket.

Personally I think the resolutions fine. I think it fits this sort of game.

The controls I doubt are sensitive enough, I found it difficult to get the rocket to go in the right direction. Once again though, that's just my opinion.

I'm no expect in game art, but I also like the graphics, very retro.

• Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
• Ah- I had a feeling it might be simple! Thanks, and sorry for asking a stupid question!

• As far as I know, Construct games do no loading- unless, they have external resources... but I don't know much about that anyway.

The icon can be changed by going into the project tab, and then under the "Icons" folder double click on the "Default" button default which will bring up the image editor. You should be able to edit that to change the icon. Are you using a different method?

• Hi everyone. I'm building a small plat former thing as something to do when my main project (Apocalyptic) gets too frustrating or old. It doesn't really have any quality to it.

Basically the problem is that I am using the plat form behavior, of course, but I want the player, once he reaches a sandbag object, to disable the movement and switch to the "Hide" animation. That's fine, but I want the player, when the space bar is hit, to switch to a fire animation and then switch back to the hiding animation. It's not exactly working though... I was hoping somebody would be able to go through the cap (its small) and see what I've done wrong?

And yes, I know the walking animation needs redoing. I'm crap at creating graphics from scratch. Thanks in advance!

• That's alright, I understand. I do like the new site design by the way.
