  • I just found Davioware's game "Audia" on Game Jolt (via his own weblog) and was wondering: what is your experience with putting a game on Game Jolt?

Do you get the idea that 10 or more people try your game and give feedback on it?

And what's next? Or what do you do next with the game?

I'm just curious at what people have done so far with their game, after finishing it.

  • What's your point?

I've been reading too much Drunk Hulk, which explains my behaviour in this topic: http://twitter.com/DRUNKHULK

  • Scirra Forum total members: 2080.

    Scirra Twitter total members: 44.

    It's not da same!

  • Could be said that UDK/3DRAD are the 3D equivalent of Construct/Game Maker?

  • Lol Construct can never compete with UDK.UDK is a 3d games creation prog and Construct can only do 2d stuff. But Construct is the ultimate 2d games creator so far.Although Construct is still in it's beta form it can definitly compete with mmf and games maker.

I did not mean to question if they can compete.

So, (U)DK stands for development kit.

I think Construct can also be called a development kit, or not?

Question 1: when is something called an engine, when is it a development kit?

Question 2: can games be created in UDK without any programming or scripting knowledge? (reason for asking this question is only general curiosity. For both questions, actually )

  • I was looking at the unreal engine website (http://udk.com/features) and I'm wondering:

what's the difference between UDK and Construct?

Can Scirra also be called a "development kit"?

  • I'm looking forward to use (in either Construct 1 or 2):

    • multiplayer over Internet
    • multiplatform (android)
    • if possible, possibility to use it on playstation network/xbox live
  • Thanks for the replies, I will try it.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • hello,

I have a question about the following situation:

    • one moving sprite (bullet behaviour) from left to right
    • on right side a gun that shoots a bullet (bullet behaviour), aimed at sprite.

But because the sprite is moving, it misses: it shoots at the position the sprite was, at the moment of shooting.

How would I let it aim a little bit lower, so that it hits the sprite?

    for example:

Angle: Bullet towards Sprite.bottom minus 8 pixels

  • Here's a trailer of lbp2.

What you'll see is: an example of different "games"/levels/worlds you can create within the game.

What I like about part 1 is, that it's fun to search for words to find out levels being made on what you typed.

Or to filter on highest ranked/most popular levels and be amazed by cool levels people made.

  • You can already do that with the big magnifying glass at the top of the screen

My mistake. Don't know why I missed that.

  • My request is a search function, that lets you know where your searched item is being used.

    For example:

you remember a sprite being used somewhere, but can't find it on the Event Sheet Editor.

    Search: <name of sprite>.

    Result: line 21, 43, 115 and 119.

  • Instead try

Always. Set block to not highlighted

    If mouse over - highlight

    This works, thanks!

  • hello,

I would like to have the same idea as the 4 buttons have in this forum, when you post a new message: 4 buttons: load, save, preview, submit.

When you point at it with your mouse, it'll light up. When your mouse is not on it, it will be a regular button again.

In my game, the blocks are next to eachother.

    In general, the code is:

    • if mouse on block>highlight
    • if mouse not on block>no highlight

This basically works, but the undesirable effect is, that when the mouse goes from block 1 to block 2, block 1 stays highlighted, because the mouse is still on "block" (although it is block 2).

  • halo 3's ranking system does this, and it works well, but there are always going to be people who work around the system, quitting early, team killing excessively for many games to get negative rank etc, so that they can fight ONLY noobs.

    That sux
