  • Does it have to be an animation? Can't you do it much easier? What I personally would do is make a private variable for the stick.

    Always:Subtract from Stick('timer') 1*timedelta
Stick:Timer less or equal to 0:Stick destroy
Stick:Timer less or equal to 0:Stick>Create object BALL[/code:1uy86y22]

    Thanks for the reply.

    What does "1*timedelta" do?

I had the absolute pleasure of chatting to Ron while I was in the US. We met in a private museum of 70s and 80s videogame cabinets - which was amazing and, of course, completely appropriate. "

  • I tried out the following: create animation of a vertical line that turns into a ball. Ball falls on ground.

    Frame 1: vertical line.

Frame 2: ball in center of where line once was.

Question: how do I let Construct know that the ball in frame 2 must start in center of the frame 1-line?

I tried not cropping frame 2-ball and use the same height/width as the line used, but didn't work.

I tried the hotspot, in image editor. Worked, but when a hotspot is placed under (outside) the frame, the frame is displayed up side down.

Am I correct for using the hotspot-function for this?

(frame 3-6 should be: ball moves towards ground)

  • Can I recast my vote? I voted for a web browser platform, but after reading the opinions of the other members, I am thinking of favoring the Android platform.

Perhaps same for me (or Linux/Mac). Even though Ashley told us to "choose carefully".

Problem is: I don't have the knowledge to make the best choice.

Perhaps, in an ideal situation, every choice should point out benefits and drawbacks.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Python IS programming but events are not, to me programming means when you have to write a block of codes, scripting could be programming to a certain extent but writing X+25 for events and such is just small tiny bit of coding, nothing compared to real programming that I am yet unable to grasp.

I think Construct is: programming with events, without traditional coding (although it is possible).

1 example of a possible definition of Programming:

scheduling: setting an order and time for planned events

creating a sequence of instructions to enable the computer to do something

    wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

It doesn't really matter though. It's only definition...

  • I have one from brand "emachines". Single core. (amd athlon 2650, 1.61Ghz)

I bought it 2 years ago, I think.

Kinda slow, but workable. I only use it for Internet, Construct and music.

I like how the computer case doesn't take up much space. But I guess I could also have bought a laptop.

  • Mmmm... maybe the image editor? At least in my case I prefer to use the gimp or others to paint or draw... mmm... but then how to make control points and those things?... mmm...

Please no. I use the image editor very often.

  • How good is Siren: Blood Curse?

I've played the first, but it's very unforgiving... so much that I got bored with it.

I know it's slow and you're supposed to replay a bunch but I just couldn't go past one stage where there were snipers everywhere.

Not a very good game, but worthwhile (and sometimes quite good), if you like japanese horror movies, I think. And if you can overlook (look passed? I hope both English expressions are correct in the way I want to use it) the controls and fighting mechanism. I play it at easy difficulty.

  • I wanted to share that I also like this game!

Now trying to finish dead rising, before moving on to case 0 and part 2. And I shouldn't forget to finish: Fallout 3 + DLC's. Metro Splinter Cell Siren Blood Curse left4dead2 -_-

Do you think it's fair? I think so.

I also think so. I've watch a playthrough on youtube of the game.

  • Alastair John Jack is asking $5 (I think usd) for Arvoesine. Fair price?

    Game Achievements Closed Beta Program

Achievements are currently in closed beta, and we're looking for some helping hands that would be interested in testing the system. We're looking for developers that are serious about using trophies in their games. If you think you'd be interested in being part of the closed beta, send us an e-mail to and let us know. Be sure to include your username in the email, as well.

Give your games a jolt with the Game Jolt achievements system! Allow gamers to achieve trophies, high scores, and even save their games/levels directly onto the Game Jolt servers.

What creation tools/languages does it work with?

Finally an achievements system that works with nearly any game on nearly any platform! As long as your creation tool/programming language supports HTTP operations and MD5 (or SHA-1), you can implement the achievements API in your game.

Is it difficult to work with the system?

Well, we're doing everything we can to make this system as easy to use as possible. Developers already work hard enough on their games as it is, so adding achievements to those games should be made simple so as to make it fun, rather than a big pain. Along with the Game Jolt developer community, we're working on making libraries and plugins to work with as many creation tools/languages out there. There's a very good chance that your chosen development platform already has a plugin. If you'd like to help with this endeavor, contact us!

    What features do I get?

The system currently has support for trophies, high scores and data storage. We're working on adding game/player status and cleaning up some of the functionality before release.

Is there an added benefit to implementing achievements?

Besides the fact that many gamers are drawn to achievements and unlockables, when the achievements system comes out of closed beta, we'll be heavily promoting the games that use it.

    In Closing

Thanks for your interest, and we'll keep you posted on progress and new developments regarding the achievements system!

  • Thanks for the reply. I didn't know there was ad revenue on Game Jolt.

It must be difficult to become popular on Game Jolt, because as time goes by, more games are being uploaded on the website, making your games harder to spot. I guess.

I downloaded your Audia game on Game Jolt today. You're getting richer

Audia is like Nintendo DS' Electroplankton:
