  • Thoughts anyone?

  • Great points! I've been taking overdraw into account so I don't have any transparent pixels. But that Ludei page is a great read! It's good to know they operate on powers of 2. I'll keep that in mind.

  • Hello everyone,

Is there any good way to have the turret behavior aim accurately when the bullets it's firing have gravity? Obviously having a bullet with gravity will throw the targeting calculation off if it's not taking it into account.

Basically I would like the turret to be firing arced shot. Think worms style.

Let me know if anything comes to mind. Thanks!

  • Try Construct 3

  • Yeah bud... Thats pretty messed up, let's fix it.

make the following entry as the first one and you should be fine:

    127.0.0.1        localhost

Also the comment in the file about localhost should resolve in DNS is wrong. It can be set up that way but it's not correct at all. Let me know if you have problems.

  • Just downloaded it. This was probably the first time I really said WOW to something on my phone. Looking forward to using it!

  • Nice, that sounds like a great plugn!

After an initial look I didnt see it but I'll keep searching. Or if anyone else knows about this plugin chiming in would be appreciated. :)

If nothing turns up I might try the "build your own keyboard solution".

  • Hello all,

I'm mainly posting this because I couldn't find the post I was reading regarding this the other day... [Searched through 10 pages.]

So I'm working on a CocoonJS game and things have been going great. I'm working on designing my backgrounds and I had some questions:

I'm looking at having each level have 4 backgrounds, each on it's own layer. [Only one layer will be displayed at a time but I know that doesn't change much performance wise.] Each background image will be approximately 1300x800 px. Are these dimensions fairly reasonably and is this a decent plan to move forward with? Other levels will be created with tiled backgrounds.
Each image so far is taking up 700MB to 1.8MB. I know this doesn't make a difference other than package size because of how they are loaded into memory? In that other post someone mentioned how much space an image would take up in memory. Could someone provide me with that? It would be super helpful in figuring out how much wiggle room I have.

Here's a concept example for reference:

    <img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t197/basspenguin/house_2_zps83160de6.png" border="0" />

I know if I follow this design I should have space for ~6 levels if I want to fit music and a few other assets in. Let me know if i'm way off base.

    Thanks!

  • Ashley Is this something Ludei needs to fix or is there possible hope for a workaround like with the AJAX object?

If not I was thinking about making a workaround like It's less than ideal but should work, no?

    Thanks!

  • Ashley Personally I think some of it might be the fact the two share the same forum. There not much more frustrating than using the forum search, finding the perfect answer only to realize it was for CC haha.

  • Maybe running in Continuous preview mode would make more sense if you had a checkbox to toggle it on and off. Then shift+f5 could be reserved for starting fresh again.

    Just a thought.

  • Be aware the above article makes it sound like you might still need a WiiU dev kit. But still this is awesome!!!

    Another bit below:

    gonintendo.com

Anxious to hear what's officially announced. :)

  • Ashley Yes, folder based project. I think you are correct in that it will update already included files.

The problem is it will not load changes to the .caproj file if I do an Subversion operation. I thinking the shortcut would be the same as: Closing the current project then reopening the same project so all changes will be reloaded.

Having a keyboard shortcut would be great.

  • I agree! This would be super useful as I'm using Construct2 with Subversion. Every time I need to check out a specific revision I need to close Constuct2 and reopen to load the project to pick up the changes.

I was thinking ctrl+R would be a great shortcut to reload the project, but it was just taken by the new replace object functionality. ;)

  • jayderyu I 1+ having that as a feature. It would be super useful.
