  • In this CAP there's measured speed of every frame with 100000 outside layout in two modes:

    no actions on objects

    increment every object's PV

IMO foreach-ing works fast enough. Enjoy ^^.

  • Managing object's age can be done by one event (PV "age" -> add to value -> timedelta). ActionsConditionsExpressions shouldn't be filled with unnecessary entries.

  • OKey I just got easily offended. Sorry ^^.

  • I've recently finished making sprite with 49 animations. Good to know Construct handles it without problems. That's a little technical tip for you ^^.

Looking forward to seeing first movement engines and game as well. However I think sexy characted should've had longer hair .

  • Idea of sub-events, sub-animations and stuff seems to cover this problems. But while its usage is still unclear to me, it'd be good for someone from DevTeam to tell about it ^^.

Theoretically when conditions needed to make two objects are met, then you would have to make two parallel sub-events - both "always"-ed. First one will handle making first object and initializing it, second one: handle second object.

  • Yes. There are unexperienced people with too high expectations of programs. Using such generalizations (youngster wants Doom5) simply leads "elite user" to tease newbie "because he surely must be a lamer".

On klik communities I frequently observe such situations:

There's a newbie who asks about thing too complex to make. Instead of answers like "it's impossible", there are answers like "What a noob. You would like at the very beggining make a RTS!?". This is what I don't like. If some newbie begins to act arrogant then sure - warn him! ban him! But only then.

Would you please stop this stereotypical thinking?

I'm hoping to be using Construct v1.00 in before 2009. Actually it is more probable that we'll see first professional-looking game made in still-beta Construct. I think releasing Cons1 will be a big event for indie games market. At this time I can't see much more advanced, universal yet easy to use editors (maybe Game Maker).

  • Layout changing related bug ><'. I've it after few restarts (3, sometimes after 10, sometimes none at all).

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • This errors occurs only in disabling these object. They are not vital for game creation (and the second one is only for experimenting) so don't worry.

  • Very nice. Especially the first one. This would make quite an addicting game! The second and third should have lower priority.

  • Looks like it's time for Construct 0.97.6 ^^. That's kinda weird, because Construct installation haven't messed with SDK objects (Template.csx).

  • On my machine it does detect overlapping once.

Looks like for the time being you'll have to use Private Variable (for example variable named "Destroyed"). When destroying object you should set this PV to "1" and call Sprite->Destroy as well. Since object is deleted from collection at the end of loop, this PV would control "if this object should be included in coll detection".

    Edit:

This "delayed destroying" also was in Fast Loop Object in TGF.

  • No, 3dBox works fine.

  • Yes! Yes! Yes! Great work

Don't know why, but Directsound wasn't working at my machine at all (WinXP SP3). Maybe XAudio2 will do just fine ^^.

  • Doppel, your conclusion's making Republic of Poland embarrased ;).

About signatures: they should be fixed but this task should have low priority ^^.
