  • I was wondering if SCIRRA has any available educational Books or Learning DVD's related to Construtor Classic? Obviously not in constructor 2 because its still beta!

  • Someone mentioned steal storms website may be down so here is a link to a demo video...

  • I bought it even before I read it here, I honestly barely had $1 in the bank when I bought it, so that's all I could give at the time (this is before they brought out bundle 2 with it and it's interesting that they gave me those 5 games also, so I got 10 games for $1 pretty good deal, steal storm is fun and so were a few of the others, worth the buck I spent, I guess I'm lucky and they are too because that almost was $1 they wouldn't have had otherwise..lol! If I had $5 I might have paid that for all 10 of these games, but none of them to me would be games I would pay $10 a piece for, they just are not THAT great! Although 3 of them I might have paid up to $5 for. So $1 was still a pretty good deal I guess! I Recommend it to everyone! :)

Inside construct you want to double click on the layout, select 'sprite', this will open the image editor. Now you can either paste your image in, or you can click on the icon second from the left at the top, select your pre-saved file and click open.

I was trying EVERYTHING else but using the graphics editor because I thought this engine was intuitive and easy but not quite so because this approach leaves something less to be desired, but yet there is hope because of Rojohound! I hope that his method or something similar will be updated into the main program for those of us who are much newer to programming!

Now I'm not much of a programmer so I really hope that someone can make an update to this software with the patch I've read about here, because it would make drag and dropping graphics into constructor much easier!

But Awesome job Rojohound for doing this! I only hope someday I will be able to figure this out because the current method of using the image editor is really slow and inconvenient!

  • Please disregard post and delete if possible, someone was kind enough to help, thank you!

  • Thank you steven, I finally got it working! But it is extremely slow and inconvienant! I wish that you could just drag and drop the pictures into the folder or side and then put them on the screen because this picture editor takes forever to load some of my pictures sometimes...

  • I've researched and could not find the solution to being able to post my own graphics in Constructor classic which I'm sure is done the same as constructor 2? Many of the tutorials are giving me a 404 error and so I am not able to view them through the Scirra website, while I've looked through the online manual and couldn't find instructions except the accepted formats of (.png, .jpg, .bmp., .gif). One individual recommended a shooter tutorial that explains it but that tutorial is currently offline on the SCIRRA website! Please advise?

  • I've looked and looked to try to figure out what the problem is, I am using construct classic and trying to import my own graphics for the game, I've read that you can use .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp, but I cannot get any of these to work? I've watched some tutorials and haven't found a workaround there either so maybe I'm the only one having these issues and if so can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or point me in the right direction. I am using Photoshop CS5 to create realistic picture images to use in the game, but I cannot import them? What formats and how do you do this effectively? Sorry but this is my 2nd time really using this and I guess I'm just not to smart with construct. I hope it gets easier, because I love how this engine looks and feels and I hope that me and my growing team will be helpful contributors down the road for years to come...but for now...help please! :P <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Yea, you will have to create the game twice, most probably. Rojohound (another forum member) had released a simple tool which converted cc projects into C2, but it's far from perfect and I wouldn't rely on it to completely convert a game. In the future someone may be able to come up with a decent converter though. It probably won't be perfect but it can save you some work. (importing graphics, etc.)

Thank you DavioWare I will have to speek to rojohound about this sometime then!

Sorry about posting the question twice Ashley, I was having problems with the internet and thought it didn't post correctly! :P

  • That's not entirely true, there seems to always be a way, even if it means just a plugin which allows a game made in CC to run in C2 in html5 format but not actually be in that format...if this can be done then it could be a solution and I know on allot of other professional engines out there they have the feature to port to just about every other form, but whether they can alter there project after that port or just play the game within that format is a question I don't know? But some kind of feature like this will be extremely valuable if someone is able to make it! I would contribute but unfortunately I am more of a visual based person and less of a programmer! Thank you all for your feedback though!

  • Me and my developers are working on a game that we want to sell as an indie game and then release a limited version for free online play either in Java or Html5, so construct 2 would work great for this...But....will I need to create the game twice, once in CC and a second time in C2 in order to make things work properly?

  • The thing is I and my team want to make a standalone Indie game that we can sell, but we also want to make it available online and our preferred method is either Java or HTML5 of course and It would be awesome if the limited demo version could be available free online in html5? Just wondering if that is possible yet? Thanks for taking your time to read and respond!

  • Is there a way that we can we port games made in Construct to Construct 2?

    Please answer, thanks!
