  • Hi all, I am looking into creating a variety of different objects that home in on different targets depending on certain variables anyway it was suggested that lerp might be a good way to do this. But sadly i know very little about using it.

    Can anyone point me towards any info for the layman about lerp, that i can use to get started with the concepts :)

  • Hi I want to create a continuous laser weapon that fires slowly, that will fire for say 3-5 seconds at a time and then gradually stops. In my fluxation game I tried to implement this but instead of one continous beam, it fires loads of objects and you can see they are seperate objects when you move the target reticle.

    Ideally I would want the player to move the aiming point and the beam simply follow it. Then when it powers down it slowly gets smaller and dissapears.

    Any help, thoughts, capx's would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi, I am considering incorporating a beam weapon into one of the my space shoot em up games. But can anyone advise on how best to do the following (or provide a capx example)

    The weapon would fire in a straight line, but when it hits an enemy object it bounces off at an appropriate angle to the angle it was tranvelling and the angle of collision edge on the object that it hits.

  • Hey all, as some of you probably know, Diablo 3 is coming out in 5 days and I wondered if anyone here is getting it and if so would like to team up occasionally for a bit of co-op fun.

    Since Diablo 3 is forcing all players whether they play singleplayer or not to connect to the blizzard servers i thought I might as well see how intends to play it. The game wil no doubt take over some (much) of my time I normally give over to game design heh.

  • Nice game, similar to a game called alchemy, but slightly different, and it looks good to. I managed to score 429,496,788. Love the high scoring heh.

    Good luck with the ad revenue.

    I recommend with a game like this to make it touch operated and get it optimised for mobile, with levels of some kind. As casual games like this do really well on mobile platforms.

  • I agree with everyone else, the music and style make the game a lot better, my only suggestion would be to add more checkpoints in during the levels after each puzzle. That way people can mess up and not have to repeat loads again.

  • Hi i like the nice and simple way of making levels. I have been toying with a platformer idea for a while and may use a similar style for allowing users to create their own levels. Keep us updated if you come up with a decent way to save and use the user generated content.

    I have now uploaded a new version to the Scirra arcade v0.31.

    Changes:

    More bug fixes,

    The player is now controlled by left click only.

    The longer you hold down left click the higher your jump.

    You now move forward slightly when you jump

    When on the floor you move backwards slightly.

    Bullets bug where loads appear after a short time is fixed

    Bullets now spawn more randomily but continually.

    I have now completed the work on the player character, his jumping and general movement now works fine, and I will now be working on more obstacles and scenery to add to the game. Before adding a global leaderboard.

    As always suggestions and comments welcome and helpful.

  • Thanks again pixel monkey, I did a lot of playing around with those variables and managed to get what I needed the game to do, thank you. :)

  • Hey nice new update, I like the inclusion of worf telling us when the ship is losing shields, but might be better if that was a little smaller perhaps.

    More suggestions:

    Make phasers work by holding down the button rather than clicking, would be nice if it was a continuous beam for a few seconds, maybe a power bar that goes down the longer you fire it. etc.

    Ships occassionally drop powerups when destroyed e.g. shield boosts, more weapons.

    Torpedos dont seem strong enough, maybe a stronger weapon.

    the torpedoes home in on the enemy ships, so that the limited number isnt as big a disadvanctage.

    But generally more good additions.

    P.s. Glad you like my games :) I like this one too :)
