  • Really like it! Could use an hiscore table to help with the competition with friends. Also, a +time pickup would be cool. If you pick it up you get an extra 5 seconds for example.

  • Just thought I'd point you all in the direction of the BDBASH Event that's being held. They're asking people to create (very) short games (5-10 seconds) that can be thrown in with other games made by other people so the end result can be given as a present to indie developer Dan Perski.

    It's a fun idea with no prizes or anything but they say that if it is successful they'll do another one for other indie devs. They accept only HTML 5 + Java script and give instructions on how to submit your Construct 2 game if you want to.

  • Good art for me makes the game. We can all pretty much make C2 do what we need it to with time and patience, but making it look professional is purely down to talent. I've even considered paying an artist for some work but most seem out of my price range unfortunatly.

  • I've been here a while but never posted on this thread for some reason (I don't think, my memory is plop).

    My name is Jeff, I live in Manchester, England. I'm registered disabled due to 2 damaged discs in my spine that restrict my movement. Construct has been a life saver for me, giving me something to do while stuck at home. The main thing is the speed at which you can see some great results.

    Oh and yes, I'm a Manchester United fan from Manchester before anyone asks. ;)

  • vandinz xyboox : I defended my computer science PhD last week, so I'm slowly catching up my work <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />.

    Anyway, I'm planning to give that plugin that update in the next weeks or so, but other plugins also needs updates, so I'll try to do it soon.

  • Another way is to give the platforms the SINE behaviour. Takes a little bit of trial and error to set the magnitude but I can usually get it within a couple of minutes. Looks a little nicer imo due to the easing in and out.

    Just another alternative :)

    This is also a good reason to point you to my request for a path plugin. That would be perfect for setting up moving platforms. Put your marker down here ;)

  • Surprisingly no! I put a small warp effect on it and it gave that 2 layer effect, <strike>purely by accident</strike> totally on purpose :)

  • Here's a Shoot 'em up I'm working on atm. Nowhere near finished (in fact only started it the other day). Missing some effects due the free version limitation and I'm yet to set all the alien patterns for the first level.

    I've developed it so that I can just switch on or off certain attack patterns based on time, which is a lifesaver when creating waves. The health bar works but doesn't as you can't die yet (got fed up of dieing while testing :P ) and the big lazer is way to powerful, would kill you in a second.

    The shot speed changed after a few seconds because I was trying different speeds and set it to a timer rather than waiting for a certain event.

    I've ran out of events in the free version so this is another game I'm putting on the back burner until I get a license. Anyhoo, tell me what you think.
