Shoot balls to destroy as many blocks as possible, at each stage the game will become more difficult.
  • Here's a Shoot 'em up I'm working on atm. Nowhere near finished (in fact only started it the other day). Missing some effects due the free version limitation and I'm yet to set all the alien patterns for the first level.

I've developed it so that I can just switch on or off certain attack patterns based on time, which is a lifesaver when creating waves. The health bar works but doesn't as you can't die yet (got fed up of dieing while testing :P ) and the big lazer is way to powerful, would kill you in a second.

The shot speed changed after a few seconds because I was trying different speeds and set it to a timer rather than waiting for a certain event.

I've ran out of events in the free version so this is another game I'm putting on the back burner until I get a license. Anyhoo, tell me what you think.

EDIT - I uploaded the wrong version :P

  • The background looks awesome... is it made of two layers?

  • Surprisingly no! I put a small warp effect on it and it gave that 2 layer effect, <strike>purely by accident</strike> totally on purpose :)

  • That's pretty cool! I love the big green laser and the sound it makes

  • Pretty good stuff!

  • I like continue with more levels

  • I hate the fact the movement is limited. I wish I could anywhere I wanted to.

  • This is great. Nice and fast, feels responsive.

It's nice to be able to make this sort of game which is no longer feasible commercially for consoles - and yet is still loads of fun to play.

  • Loved it, that totally on purpose screen effect is brilliant :)

So is the game, good job.

  • Awesome background! :D

  • Awesome music and background!

Any chance we can take a peek at the capx? cause I want the music haha...

  • I'll do better than that! Here's a link to the page I got it from. I found the link after the musician himself posted on a forum telling us we could use his music in our games for free. There's loads there to choose from, everyone is as good as the last (imo).

I will obv credit him for the music, even though he doesn't ask for it.

  • Nice boss! i thought the wave patterns could use a bit more imagination though, too predicable. A lesson im learning my self, well worth learning though judging by some of the classic shoot em ups

You're absolutely right, which is why I asked for a PATH plugin after making this. Without that it's REALLY difficult to create fancy attack waves. I'm not working on this anymore until I get a licence and I'm hoping there will be a path movement plugin by then. Fingers crossed. :)
