  • newt: Oh it was? Heh, I didn't know that.

This also rises the question... the battle system. I guess that too has to be all in a different layer? I think that sounds insane, but I might of course be wrong.

  • Thanks a bunch for the answers. :)

Yeah... I thought about that, that it was gonna have to be in the layout itself instead. I thought maybe it could get messy that way, but seeing as I would have to save all values temporarily each time I access the menu, this way seems much more effective. Also, you think a "Sub-Layout" object will ever come to C2?

  • I see. Well, yeah, my game isn't casual, and I will make this clear before anyone starts to play. Now if they stay or leave, is their own choice and not something I care about, since I know there's different audiences.

    Thank you for the answer!

  • Right. So I'm getting ready to start to work on my game seeing as I have enough resources to do so. Though, there's something I cannot get my head around completely, and that is the camp menu. If any of you have ever played a Final Fantasy game, you'll know what I am talking about. The camp menu is where you manage everything you have, from characters to the items you equip to game settings. Now, I am not sure how to go about this in C2. In other makers, like MMF and CC, you have an object that you show a layout inside of a layout, which makes this pretty straight forward if you know what you are doing. C2 does not have this option, and I don't know how to go about doing this really. The thing is, that when a camp menu shows, all game kind of pauses and only the camp menu is active, this is not my problem really, the problem comes when you get out of the camp menu. See, when you exit the menu, the game goes right back to where you were, nothing changed, everything is the exact same way as when accessed the camp menu. This is my main problem with this. The best way and effective ti make a menu like this would be to break it into different layouts, but the problem is, going back to the game without anything changed or altered. How would I achieve such a thing in C2?

  • 100MB too big? Are you serious? What if one (like me) does not care for mobile? Is 100MB still too big?

  • Yeah. Doesn't sound like it would be time consuming. I have done lighting effects before this way.

  • Great job! BTW, I dunno if it's a glitch, but when you finish the stage and enter the tower thing, you can still use magic by pressing C.

  • kiyoshi: For when you got graphics that aren't transparent. Say you got a whole bunch, but none are transparent. You would have to process all of them through a graphic program, to remove the background. Instead of just opening C2 and pick the color.

  • I see, thanks for the info. guys. I usually work with Photoshop, but was wondering if this feature was gonna be built in in the future as it is very handy and time saving.

  • No sweat and good luck!

  • You can go to the Open Topic forum section and see if anybody is in need of resources. Also, you can go to any website you want that has to do game dev. and offer the exchange. I was recently in need of a spriter that would help me with a rather big sprite sheet edit in exchange for a C2 licence... I made the topic here, but no luck. So I was in another forum where someone asked me for help with something about MMF2. I helped him and recommended C2... He liked it and asked about the licence, so I told him, but I also felt like I should ask if he was good at spiriting and that I would buy it for him if he helped me. He accepted and we made a deal. It was in the most unlikely place though. So, I guess there's no place unlikely enough.

  • I was wondering if or how you can pick the invisible color of a sprite on C2? I cannot seem to find anywhere. Is it even an option? If not, is it in the plans to add this functionality?

    Thank you!
