  • Don't understand why I'm getting the sarcasm. Freedom of speech is something we all still have.

I gave my opinion and I wish not to discuss this matter further, it won't change it.

  • Some of the comments on this thread are simply baffling. So just cos a game is free it means it's crap or it shouldn't be allowed into the stores? Just who the heck you people THINK you are?

You know, some people make games cos they genuinely like it, if you are pissed that a free game is taking attention from a paid game, then make better paid games. :)

The moment you get greedy is the moment you lose all creativity and taste for what you do. You needn't go too far, look at the gaming industry, all cookie cutter crap games, originality just flew out of the window and it's RARE these days, when in the old days originality and passion was what games were made of and it's what got them to where they stand now.

Onto the topic... I do think the limitation is complete crap, the price it's alright if you are serious about making money with games and have the money for it, cos let's face it, these companies can't give two craps about you or yer financial stability. So AppMobi it's pretty much only for people that have the resources, which is yer typical corporate greed. We are surrounded of it, sadly.

  • Freaking awesome. Thank you for this.

  • I have a question about this plugin. Is this like an array with named variables? Like instead of calling the value at 1,1 in the array, you call the value by the actual name?

    Thanks!

  • ???

    That sounds extreme...

  • Next version of awesomium will get full support for webgl and everything else it seems. When it comes i'll see about making a wrapper for C2. I already have the base rendering code working ,a gui made with html5/css3, rendering to opengl. Even with it's licensing costs Awesomium seems to be the best solution to get webgl and everything rendering on a desktop host.

kiyoshi: This sounds nice. And it's free for non-commercial, so I can use it.

  • Seems like browser independence is close. This is nice, as I really hate it.

  • There should be software that prepares yer computer to play HTML5 games offline or something. The average user cannot be bothered to go thru all that trouble. Also, browser independence it's something I'd love to see.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I think they switched server or something. They said on Facebook that we should expect issues for a lil while.

  • newt: Ah, no no. I don't play to use the players sprites on the menus. Only artwork.

Thanks for yer help. It helped clear my mind on this.

  • newt: What's wrong with global objects? Doesn't the player need to be a global object?

  • newt: I don't think there will be much scrolling, since this is a turn based like battle system. Maybe some parallax in the background, but very few actually. Between all together, I do not think it will reach the 500 objects at one time on screen. Also, I can leave the parallax idea out if it will complicate things. Also the idea of a different layout for the battle screen sounds attractive... I was thinking in this case, I should save the player's XY to some global variable? May even the NPCs as well? Also, the layout they were last before accessing the menu?
