  • Wouldn't you know it, I just decided yesterday to go ahead with getting a Standard License and the SALE is over. <img src="smileys/smiley5.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

Any word on when another sale like this will occur?

  • scirra.com/forum/beta-over_topic48910.html

I think this is the 10 time I see this type of topic =(

  • Sorry, pal.

Didn't know my interest in the program was such a bother...

  • , TELLE was not insinuating that your thread was a bother, He was simply stating it's a tragic that so many users have unfortunately missed out on the early adopters period.

  • ...we'll go with that.

If his figures are correct, it would appear that Scirra has missed out on a few hundred dollars in sales.

  • Didn't know my interest in the program was such a bother...

Than how come you've missed the sale, over all the interest? If you'll read Ashley post in the topic TELLES0808 gave you, you'll see they've done a lot to notify everyone.

Well, for one, Construct isn't the only program I've been testing out. I have downloaded quite a few and didn't really get in to Construct and its benefits until yesterday. I didn't sign up for any newsletters or check the site simply because I wasn't going to commit to having to receive/follow newsletters from so many programs.

You shouldn't be so accusatory in your posts as it is considered bad manners...

  • Try Construct 3

Nah, not really. As I stated, there were other programs I was considering and Construct's offer was simply better...at the time.

"Information overload" also means lots of progams to choose from.

  • I can sympathise, i actually wish i bought the business version at sale price.

That being said, its still unbelievably cheap for the quality of program. You can tell from the free version what your getting. Its worth every cent. :)

  • ...we'll go with that.

Actually yes, I believe smitchell's assumption is correct.

It's stunning and sad that some people may have missed the sale when they appeared to be interested in it.

But you say it yourself, you haven't closely followed the forum or the newsletters.

Also if you have tried an old release, I strongly suggest you to update to the newer it has greatly improved.

Still, C2 is still at a very reasonable price and people who saw the benefits of this software can still obtain it.

Finaly, victimizing oneself when arriving in a newer international community is not considered the best approach either.

Noga's post is not accusational, it sounds like a pretty legitimate question to me too in the end.

You use "your interest in the software" to legitimate the fact that you're making a post wondering how you missed the sale period.

You said it yourself, you downloaded an old version (from 2011 apparently since the end of the early adopter period was annonunced in the early days of 2012) and didn't got back to the website until recently.

It is sad, but "it is on you". Telles even linked you to a similar topic listing all the communication/marketing steps that Scirra took to announce the end of the early-adopter period.

At one point, and I believe the question has already been asked in the other topic, what would you have wanted them to do to broadcast this information even wider if yourself didn't take the step to "get in touch" ?

It's understandable on your part, to an extent.

    Blame bad timing/fate I guess.

Despite all this, as I said earlier, you can still get a license to a reasonable price and further your use of the software and benefit from it.

And also welcome on the forum, despite this "bumpy" mutual introduction, you'll be able to see, if you stick around, that it is one of the nicest and most helpful community you'll meet on the internet today.

Ya, but there IS something that gets you in the gut about having to pay twice as much for something that was on sale so recently.

Maybe I'll sit this one out and wait to see if there will be another offer someday...

  • Kyatric

Look, all I was simply asking was whether or not there would be another sale and, instead of a simple answer, it has turned in to something "bumpy", as you said.

I don't need to be lectured on how it was MY fault for ANYTHING.

I myself ACKNOWLEDGED that I missed the sale, yet, I have people continuing to want to find some kind of fault here.

I blamed no one for my mistake and yet, it seems to be the going meme for my post.

I simply asked IF THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER SALE in the future.

Geez, if THIS is the community response here, maybe its just as well I don't get involved....

THANK YOU, VampyricalCurse, for actually HELPING me resolve the issue of MY MISTAKE.

Exactly how would an exchange of this sort occur?
