...we'll go with that.
Actually yes, I believe smitchell's assumption is correct.
It's stunning and sad that some people may have missed the sale when they appeared to be interested in it.
But you say it yourself, you haven't closely followed the forum or the newsletters.
Also if you have tried an old release, I strongly suggest you to update to the newer it has greatly improved.
Still, C2 is still at a very reasonable price and people who saw the benefits of this software can still obtain it.
Finaly, victimizing oneself when arriving in a newer international community is not considered the best approach either.
Noga's post is not accusational, it sounds like a pretty legitimate question to me too in the end.
You use "your interest in the software" to legitimate the fact that you're making a post wondering how you missed the sale period.
You said it yourself, you downloaded an old version (from 2011 apparently since the end of the early adopter period was annonunced in the early days of 2012) and didn't got back to the website until recently.
It is sad, but "it is on you". Telles even linked you to a similar topic listing all the communication/marketing steps that Scirra took to announce the end of the early-adopter period.
At one point, and I believe the question has already been asked in the other topic, what would you have wanted them to do to broadcast this information even wider if yourself didn't take the step to "get in touch" ?
It's understandable on your part, to an extent.
Blame bad timing/fate I guess.
Despite all this, as I said earlier, you can still get a license to a reasonable price and further your use of the software and benefit from it.
And also welcome on the forum, despite this "bumpy" mutual introduction, you'll be able to see, if you stick around, that it is one of the nicest and most helpful community you'll meet on the internet today.
