This is getting a little out of hand, the whole MMF2 vs Construct thing. If a program can make a good game, then that's all that matters. And to be melodramatic, it saddens me deeply, that developers would use their own preferences to create nothing but destruction! Every thing has its pros and cons, so lets not turn this forum into a "MMF2 hate area". If you actually want to compete, make some games! Show what Construct can do, not compare it to other programs.

I don't think many of the users there wanted to see that post either. Lets make games, not make competitions on programs.

  • Now, for sites I like Cabanova, its flash based, D&D, very easy and fun to use.

    Cabanova

But if something flash based isn't your thing, take a look at the list of alternatives. (This is also a great site to look at alternatives for software)

Though if I used something else, I would probably use Blogger or Wordpress.

  • I've always wanted to try MMF2, some of my favorite indie games are made with it. (Example: Anything from origamihero)

But I want to make a few games with Construct first before trying other programs, still learning.

  • I was thinking its a made up word that sounds cool. As for me, it kinda varies how I pronounce it. Sometimes I say "Skeer-uh" or "Skur-uh" or "Seer-uh" and sometimes I say Skyrim for some reason.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Construct has a steep learning curve

Not really, learning from the Ghost Shooter tutorial will have you on the right track in no time.

  • Looks good, except I don't really like how it makes the channels look.

  • 403 ERROR on those example links.

    Fixed. Sorry about that

Very useful tool. It is kind of buggy though (With my experience, DON'T use the bucket tool, and be sure to always check what tools are selected) Not only can you use it for tilesets, you can even make animation with it. Its a bit complicated and hard to understand at first, but you'll get used to it and create some cool things. Here is 2 examples, of what I made with it for my own game.

    Tiles 2

  • Oh yeah, lol. Reminds me of Terminator on the Sega CD with that in mind

  • Kind of reminds me of Sega Genesis for some reason, cool effect!

  • Mostly series of games, heh.

    5. Metroid Prime (Series)

Had a lot of fun with these games, played them on the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Nintendo Wii, which sure was a fun Summer.

    4. Turrican (All of them)

Now this series right here got me into music composing, and game design.

    3. Streets of Rage (All of them)

Another one I had fun with, and another one that got my into music composing.

    2. Double Dragon II NES

By far my favorite NES game of all time. Real fun, and has one of the best endings I've ever seen in a game.

    1. Fallout 3

Words can't describe, to me, this game has every thing, and I find a little more every time I play. I could talk all day about it, the story is great, (While it mostly has elements from the first 2 Fallout games, it blends all together, successfully reintroducing the series) the entire soundtrack is good, the secrets and items are good, exploring is fun, and overall everything is really satisfying. Fallout 3 is probably the most memorable game I've ever played.
