What's a Scirra?

Where did the name Scirra come from? Is it made up or does it mean something?

Just out of curiosity.

I just want to know how it's pronounced lol.

I've been saying "Seer-Uh" kinda like Sierra.

I too pronounce it as "sierra".

As for the meaning, I don't think it means anything.

In the thread Arima links to (from 2008) I say it's pronounced "see-rah"... but since then I've started saying "skirra" myself, because almost everyone I've met who looks at "scirra" written down said "skirra". So I caved and started saying it that way myself.

The thread's still right about where the name comes from: merge sci and cirrus to get scirrus, but scirrus.com was taken, hence scirra.

Scirra is like Quiet Cool.

I was thinking its a made up word that sounds cool. As for me, it kinda varies how I pronounce it. Sometimes I say "Skeer-uh" or "Skur-uh" or "Seer-uh" and sometimes I say Skyrim for some reason.

As I said before, you don't pronounce science "sky-ence," and you don't pronounce Scirra "skeer-eh." That's just wrong! WRONG, I SAY!

Although I agree with deadeye, I have always pronounced it 'skirra', for no other reason than I prefer it that way :/
