Casino? money? who knows? but the target is the same!
  • i am a french user of mmf2 , i have tested Construct (classic) today.

And i can say Construct is awesome , fluidity , clean interface , behavior like bones = just unbelievable (give at character or other stuff a real life).

    Pixel Shader support <img src="smileys/smiley32.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

and the list of extraordinary features is long , just for say THANKS at the developper of this tools.

    What is your opinion?

    MMF2 or Construct ?

  • Welcome to the forum.

I think such questions are pointless and can quite rapidly deteriorate into flame wars. Each product - MMF2, CC, C2, GameMaker etc - have their pros and cons.

  • Construct!!! of course. I disagree with xenox. if you ask this question on mmf forums you might get a flame war, but there's alot of people here who used to be mmf users and are no longer...but I do agree with him about it being a little pointless. since most people here already made their decision so chances are almost everyone will say construct.

  • If you come to the Construct forum and ask which is better, I think you'll only hear one answer :)

if you ask this question on mmf forums you might get a flame war

They seem to deliberately remove all mention of competitors, possibly to prevent such issues.

  • i have no say one of them is better , i just say i have tested construct and i find he have nice tools , for speak of cons of Construct , i have few problem of stability.

Crash application , or when i close my testgame in fullscreen , i must wait a long time because construct not respond.

    i have a good configuration but few time , i can't dodge the crash <img src="smileys/smiley9.gif" border="0" align="middle">

I have make little test with bones and i like my result.

Take a look , the character is like Rayman

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • vioz, have you also tried Construct 2? I say it's even better!

  • yes i have try C2.

i have question about this ,

    C2 can only export htm5 ?

It's normal they have less fuctions than C classic ?

  • I hate mmf, becuase it's applications is very slow, and their are alot of limits, no for and forEach loops, no 3d support, no pixelshader support other than in hwa.

The only thing better is color can be set through an expression

  • The only thing better is color can be set through an expression

You can also do that in Construct. Right click where you choose the color and select 'Use expression'. <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

The expression is RGB(R,G,B), with values from 0-255 obviously.

  • oh yes ^^ good to know

  • I've always wanted to try MMF2, some of my favorite indie games are made with it. (Example: Anything from origamihero)

But I want to make a few games with Construct first before trying other programs, still learning.

  • I used MMF for ~4 years before finding Construct. I try to go back to it every now and then but just find myself firing up Construct :)

But of course, it just comes down to what you want to do. MMF has it's advantages, but so does Construct. In the end you'll probably have to just try both and see what's best for you and your project(s).

  • Construct is better designed than MMF2 in so many ways. Subevents, for each loops, changing display resolution at runtime, better zooming, better bilinear support, better alpha channel support, event sheets can be included within another sheet, you can "read" events you're not just looking at check boxes, that's just some off the top of my head.

  • I've used most Click products in the past, and never touched them again after finding Construct.

Construct gets new plugins and effects every once in a while that add some features MMF has (eg: online thanks to SciDave's Network plugin), but the built-in ones are still great compared to what a vanilla installation of MMF provides.

I guess you can say Construct took influence from MMF, and then improved on it. The only problem is when you stumble on a game-breaking bug, but most of them can be avoided with caution now.

    Wow, fantastic tip! Thank you <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />
