  • I never cared what the inside of a computer looks like (ironic since my PC case has a massive window on one side) but that looks nice. The specs are awesome, sounds like a computer geek's wet dream. I spent 1200 on mine, which gave me a great system, but yours is a NASA machine. The twin monitor setup is sexy as hell, and bonus points for going with Vista, don't listen to the haters. That comp might even run Crysis on full detail at a decent framerate!! Pretty much futureproof, that.

  • I know I'd much rather live in Australia than here in England. Mainly cos England is a horrific place. I dunno really what Australia's like, but between Home and Away and the Fosters adverts it looks quite lovely.

  • I'm fine with Firefox 3 at the moment, I might give Chrome a try though just to see how it is. I know I'm in the minority but I like clutter, well organised clutter. I have loads of icons on my desktop for example, but it speeds everything up for me cos I know where everything is. Same with Firefox, I have buttons spanning the whole 1680 pixels of the screen, speeds things up for me cos I can just shoot the cursor up to where I want it.

Something that sounds great about Chrome is the independent tab rendering, I like the idea of how individual tabs can crash without ballsing the whole browser window up.

Crashes when I add those in any order.

Download this dude: http://www.asparagustrevor.co.uk/stuff/flames.exe, see if it crashes.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Well, looks like for my case it is directly related to Vista Themes. If I disable Glass, so far, I am unable to reproduce the crash.

Also, with Glass disabled, Construct comes back to focus 3-5 times faster with no (Not Responding) in the title bar.

It happened to me when I had XP x64. Hasn't happened in Vista yet, but I haven't had a lot of chance to test it yet.

  • I've had that error before too, not for a while though. I never managed to twig any relation to anything I was doing, but now you mention the PNG import, it hasn't happened to me for a while and I haven't imported any sprites in a while either.

  • That works really well, looks like a real 3D engine.

  • Yep me too, seems like the debugger's buggered.

  • Yeah, I got the 8800 GTX, and it runs Crysis perfectly fine, so I'm happy with it for a while yet. That does suck how crafty they were, surely there's laws against that kind of thing.

  • I think it was worse for me because of the rubbish compatibility of Windows XP x64, which totally sucked balls. Vista works, 64-bit version works, everything works, it's great.

  • I saw The Dark Knight on Friday. It was awesome, if not a bit too long, but I forgave that.

I agree, The Joker wasn't like anything we've ever seen before, a psychopathic misanthropic but sympathetic unpredictable freak. You just never knew what he was gonna do, and he had a great balance between the comedic and psychotic, but most of that was psychotic.

I've never actually seen a full film with Heath Ledger, but watching TDK shows how much a loss his death was.

In fact, the whole cast was great. Christian Bale hasn't disappointed yet in any film, likewise Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman is kinda always the same, but has a charm that is endearing.

The effects were seamless also, I don't think I noticed anything that looked out of place. Two-Face was such a brilliant CGI make-up effect, so disturbing, I thought they weren't gonna show it, they kept teasing, but then he turned round and his face was burned off completely, black skull with some muscles and charred skin and a fully exposed eyeball and jaw. Much better than Tommy Lee Jones half painted pink.

Anyways, I thought it was a brilliant film. Could've lost half an hour but all in all it's definitely the best film representation of Batman so far.
