I always get into debates about this stuff. I'm kinda known for it. In life and on the net. I've been good recently though, and I'm staying well away this time. Basic gist is I'm an atheist who respects other people's beliefs as long as they're not forced upon others. I suppose I'm kinda agnostic, in that I don't rule anything out, but I do believe more in the aspects of life that have proof. Faith doesn't make sense to me, I have to have some proof. Goddamnit, I got into it, I was supposed to be staying away.

Yeah, it's mainly the high street retailers that seem to over charge for the portability of a laptop.

Maybe it's just here in the UK, they always seem to chuck about �200 onto the price just for it being a laptop. If you buy sub-�400 laptops they're usually good enough for gaming if your collection doesn't extend far past Solitaire.

Partly the reason why I just do everything on a laptop now. It cost half the price of a good desktop PC, plays Crysis on high at 30 fps and is portable.

You kidding?!? Laptops generally cost much more than an equivalent desktop PC.

Just a thought I was having with a friend the other day...

We were discussing how much Media Center for Vista sucks, and how cool it would be to make a better one using Construct.

I haven't looked into it much at this stage, but do we have support for MP3 playback, AVI/DivX, etc etc?

If not... is this something we can add support for? It would be awesome to make a Media Center type program to replace that shitty M$ one that's shipped with Vista.

I haven't got Vista Media Centre set up yet, I've got a TV tuner and all that, I generally used to use it for recording stuff (using DVBViewer), but it's one of the things I haven't got round to sorting out yet after installing Vista. Why is it bad exactly? Is it worse/better/the same as XP MCE?

That's so good. Plasma opens up a lot of possibilities for some really cool effects like that.
