What I like best about that one is it happened in a place called Sweet Home, Oregon. If only it was Alabama.

  • I got the Wacom Bamboo. It's ickle but I love it. I should get paid comission by Amazon, cos when I bought it, I told people at work about how good it was, and three others bought one.

Yours looks pretty damn sweet, Sol, it's huge. Your tablet I mean.

I use the eraser a lot too, it just feels right when you're sketching.

  • That's good. I'm sick of games being cut down for PC, when PCs are generally much more powerful. I will buy FarCry 2, that will be my next game, it's decided.

  • Well I finally finished both Crysis and Gears of War now, so I suppose I'd better buy Far Cry 2.

I notice the graphics, nice as they are, kinda play it safe for consoles. Still looks really nice, and if it runs as well as you guys say then it should be all good.

  • Shit dude, that's gotta hurt. On the plus side, I suppose it's best it was your left hand, assuming you're right handed. It'd be pretty impossible to use the mouse with a cast on. Hope it gets better soon.

  • Cheers man, I hope you might be able to get some ideas from it, short as it is. Maybe the ledge shimmying? Could fit in well with the acrobatic moves she already has.

  • Heh, I started making a game on MMF2 a while ago, a trap platform game. Short Demo.It has crusher things and impaling spikes too. I doubt I'd ever finish it though. It's nice to see this game being built in Construct, and it's looking a lot nicer too.

I've always played with arrows, WASD has always felt wrong to me, and yep, I'm right handed. I've tried to get into WASD a few times, but using the arrows just seems more comfy and logical, i.e Up is Up, rather than W is Up. That'd be like using the gear stick to steer a car instead of the steering wheel. I think it's comfy too, I have my whole arm rested on the desk, it's nice and relaxing while blowing chunks out of things, and it feels different enough to typing to make the game feel more like gaming.

The only problem I find with using arrow keys, is... that's all you CAN use.

With WASD you also can easily press SHIFT with your pinky finger, space bar with your thumb, and buttons like E and Q for things like "use" or "reload" etc... with arrow keys you are pretty screwed when it comes to using any other buttons...

And unless you have to look at the keys when you press them, then just imagine that the W has an up arrow on it... or buy an optimus maximus keyboard so you can make the buttons look like whatever you want instead.

o me, there's too many keys around and no real distinction between WASD and the other around it when you aren't looking at the letters. If you lose your orientation, it's not easy to stick your fingers back down on WASD, well it isn't for someone who isn't used to using WASD.

Plus, there's lots of keys I can use around the arrows, Shift, CTRL, Num Pad, Del, End, Home, Insert, Pg Up, Pg Down, Enter. It all works fine for me, I have my pinky on the CTRL for ducking usually, ring finger on Shift for jumping, and when I need to reload, my index finger jumps across to '0' on the num pad. Plus I got a few buttons on the mouse that can be used. Just feels more comfy for me dude, and works fine.

Each to their own, I feel I'm good enough with the arrows to not need to switch to anything else.

  • I checked that out finally, it's coming along awesome dude. Everything looks so nice and smooth and the new blobbing effects work well.

  • I definately wanna get this soon. I still have Gears of War and Crysis to finish though.

Yeah, I know I'm behind but I only get chance to do a decent amount of gaming about once a week, since moving house there's been other things needed doing. I'm on the end boss of Crysis though, and on the train on Gears of War, dunno how far from finishing I am. Only just finished Call of Duty 4 a couple of weeks ago! I'll get more chance to game soon though, we're close to being settled in the house now.

Anyway, FarCry 2 looks pretty damn nice, I'll get it when I'm finished with the other games. Only one thing that bothers me. Why is it FarCry? By the looks of things, it has nothing to do with the first FarCry.

  • Wow, a year already?!? Damn, it's gone quick. I can remember the first version I downloaded was 0.83 I think. It's come a long way since then.
