  • I think replacing the Comic Sans with any simple custom spritefont would drastically improve the game aesthetic. The game is simple and not too difficult as you can spam short words and span it out indefinitely. Also, there is zero reason for the tiles to be falling down and stacking as adjacent letters do nothing and there is nothing to gain from strategically selecting letters to use up to get other letters adjacent so my advice would be to either make the adjacent tiles have a purpose or just to have the tiles fade in at random. I think the game could become pretty good if you go for a minimal approach like 2048 in terms of aesthetics and maybe shrink the board a bit to ramp up the difficulty. Good luck.

    Yes indeed. I figured frame by frame would take far too long so I went with Spriter.

    Vale is a 2D turn based RPG that originally had its origins from a TI-84 (not Silver Edition). Eventually it made its way onto Construct 2 somehow, who knows. Anyway, the game is run-based where you start by picking a class, fight enemies until you are powerful enough and then take on the boss, earning a score based on the number of battles you needed before you could beat the boss (and some other factors). As of right now, there is not boss yet since I work like a slug, slow and steady and making sure I breed a lot of bugs into the game. This is where I need help! The bugtesting has been hell on Earth (mainly just confined to my house though) and I could use a bit of assistance. Any assistance is appreciated. Misc Game Info below:

    Extra keyboard shortcuts:

    D/F - Lower/Raise Volume

    QWER in Battle - Select Ability

    A in Battle - Attack

    Number Keys in Shop - Buy Items

    1/2 in Battle - Potions

    Shift - Toggle Fullscreen

    Tab - Cycle game speed

    Space - Skip stuff that can be skipped

    Backspace - Go back in Shop/Skills

    Plans:

    More Enemies (5 right now, maybe 10 on release)

    Enemy Variants (More/Less HP and Damage so it would be 10 unique enemies and 30 overall)

    More Stages (3 right now, maybe 7 on release)

    Adventure mode (think FTL but battles are the battles in this game. Random Skills and Stat raises)

    Gauntlet mode (All RNG removed, fight enemies in order and reach boss)

    4 Bosses (No additional details)

    Skins and other cosmetic stuff (bought with diamonds, earned in game and IAP (on mobile))

    More Classes (Don't know how much planned. I have ideas for like 50 more but realistically it would be closer to 5)

  • I have an object that is being thrown through the air and I want it to play an animation when I press a button, but whenever I do that, the object pauses to play the animation and then continues its motion. How do I make it so that the object continues moving while playing the animation?

  • Well I was originally going to post about not being able to see the spriter files after exporting to CocoonJS despite not minifying the script, but then I decided to update my Spriter and got met with "Unable to execute file in the temporary directory. Setup aborted. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified"

    Now I'm left with nothing T.T

    EDIT: Solved the error 2 thing. Avast antivirus can go die in a hole.

    EDIT2: Also where is the pixel rounding option?

    EDIT3: K I found the pixel rounding, the only problem is it still not showing up on CocoonJS :<

    EDIT4: NVM IT IS ALL FIXED.

    EDIT5: NVM I LIED It still isn't showing up on Cocoon

    EDIT6: NVM It randomly started showing up. Everything AOK

  • I'm not too sure I'm explaining myself properly. I would like to be able to have the Or block read

    Trigger or Condition is True or Trigger and Condition is True

    or something to a similar effect.

    There is a decent amount of stuff under each in the best case scenario. However, for practical purposes I could just copy for each so I guess this matter isn't really that pressing.

  • In the actual Spriter program I'm trying to center my character in the animations. When I select all the parts and move them in a keyframe, the next keyframe gets a bit messed up :\</p>

  • Is there any way to move an entire animation up/down/left/right in Spriter? When I try to do it by keyframe, the parts split off each other on the next keyframe and I create a storm of living limbs.

  • Also I'm having various other problems that might be linked to the weird objects. I opened up the file again and the hands have disappeared off the mage victory animation. This happened with the elbows of the mage and journeyman on other animations before but I worked around them but this one is harder. Also, the cloak in the mage losing animation cloned itself. The weird objects from before is likely the elbow of the mage and journeyman that disappeared. Might have happened when I tried to copy and paste the keyframes :\</p>
