  • Set position to -Mouse.X, -Mouse.Y?

  • I had to do some nasty tricks, like delete a lot of animations or frames for the development process, then import them again when I needed to export, if you have a lot of audio file, that would be much easier to remove and add later, some new big features I would make in a separated capx and when it's finished I would marge it.

Basically my conclusion was (this goes for mostly big projects), don't import a lot of asset before you got most of the code done, use mostly 1 frame to set up pose preview, animations names, collision, hot-spots and related code.

An option to import animations from another object (with all settings) would have make this much easier to maintain, you could have a capx that holds the full object, then you can drop it as a new one and transfer all the animation, unfortunately there is no built in option for this, you can do it by manually editing the caproj file and replacing the object.

    Cool, thanks for the advice.

  • I had this issue, if it's the same one then it's about total amount of files in your project, after about 2000 files you will start getting the red bar (changes from browser to browser), sometimes refreshing while loading helps.

The reason it works after export is that all your animations goes on sprite-sheets and the file count drops dramatically.

Thanks for the response. So do I just have to export now every time I want to preview?

  • Basically I'm in this situation where I can't preview anything, but my game works fine when I export. When I'm previewing, the % loading text starts grey for half a second and then turns red, indicating a problem, and then it continues to load while red until it reaches 63% and stops. This happened on NW first, but didn't happen on Chrome, then it started happening on Chrome. I have no way of figuring out what is causing this loading issue.

  • Update: The error messages were caused by Spriter clashing with the 2 objects in question somehow. If those 2 objects are deleted, the game loads fine. If the objects are there and the Spriter object is deleted, the game loads only when loaded from the layout that the objects were on, and has a loading error on other layouts still so the 2 objects are still troublesome. I have tried remaking the 2 needed objects from scratch. On checking the loading with every change, it errors after adding the frames to animation #10 on the first object and animation #3 on the second (tested separately).

    Any ideas?

  • What would cause a loading error (red loading bar/ red loading percentage) to occur when adding in an animation or frames to an animation (i.e. my game loads fine, then I add in an animation and import frames to it and now there is a loading error and it won't load. I should note I can add as many blank frames as possible but adding in any other sort of image in the frames caused a loading error).

    EDIT:

It seems to happen when I add in more than 1 non blank frame in certain animations, though since I can't reproduce it consistently, I am hesitant about posting it to a bug report section. Also now it loads but just gives these error messages

  • The design and art is nice but I feel that the animations lack anticipation:

  • Wrangler How are you guys doing about the executable in order to install the game?

    I'm curious about this too.

    Great looking stuff btw!

It was short and fun. Not sure I can expect too much else from a game jam game. You can figure out pretty quickly what actions will result in something happening, but the short phrases after each action keeps it entertaining. Good job!

  • New class added to the closed beta!

Passive: The doctor revives upon death with half of his maximum Health.

Ailment: Stun the enemy on the turn used and deal small damage over 3 turns based off your Spell Power (20 Mana) (5 Turn CD)

    [/img]

Mortal Kiss: Toggle on a heal that heals a small amount each turn based off your maximum Health and Spell power. (5 Mana per turn) (Toggle)

Bound Revival: Revive a corpse to fight. You take 20% less damage and deal damage based off your attack for the next 5 turns. The corpse’s attacks apply basic attack effects. (50 Mana) (6 Turn CD)

Psycho Break: The foe takes damage based off your Attack and Spell Power for the rest of the battle. Stacking Damage (30 Mana) (5 Turn CD)

The Doctor can build a huge variety of builds. Attack based builds can abuse the corpse’s on hit application. Reanimation also allows for a strong hybrid build with the Aura Tap skill that allows you to deal extra damage on basic attacks based of your Spell Power! Of course you could go plain Spell Power and maybe throw in some cooldown reduction and/or Masterful Conscience for extremely strong Ailments! On hit effects that work on both spells and attacks work extremely well on the Doctor since he hits in so many ways! Have fun playing (when the game eventually gets released… Sorry, closed beta :\)

Death is the cure for life…

  • I was playtesting (for the millionth time) and was killing off monsters with 600+ damage laser beams when I realized that if this were a player that I was facing, he would have no chance to do anything! That was when I found a huge flaw in the XP scaling. The monster's health originally scaled too fast so the player's damage had to ramp up very quickly as well, forcing an imbalance in a player vs. player matchup. I did a large overhaul of the system making all of the player's damage scale a lot less off XP and more off the stats, as well as making the player gain extra health per battle in addition to the health they gained from the XP. Also the new skill Underhand has been nerfed a tad. The class portraits also no longer have breasts that look like they had more Operations than a Hasbro factory.

  • Demo is pretty fun for a little bit. I wouldn't be something that I would personally enjoy too much but I can definitely see the appeal with the casual audience. GJ.

  • Really cool isometric 3D. Can expand this into something like PoE.

  • Wow, I would have never found that. Thanks!
