  • Wow, Ashley you were exactly right. The problem was in my config file I was using a number in the ID of the export so I removed it and everything works just fine now :D I should have known that you cant use numbers in the ID from working with Eclipse.

Thank you very much for your help :D

O'ya I forgot to mention I really like the "Hide status bar" option you added. It makes the game look more professional, and fit's the screen size perfectly now :)

  • Hello

I haven't used phonegap build in about a month but last night I wanted to quick test a game I was working on, and when I try to install the apk I keep getting an error saying "There is a problem parsing the package".

I am using C2 87, and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S. I have googled the hell out of this, and found about 30 different solutions that worked for other people but not me :( I have tried over 40 different installers, I tried downloading it to my phone with different email accounts, I tried downloading it to my computer, and installing it directly to my sd card. I rebuilt it over 100 times. Nothing works :( Is this some new bug with C2?

I can still install all my old games from phonegap. They were all built with versions before, and up to 80.2. I can also install any app off of the google play store. I just can't install any new game I build with C2 87, and phonegap build :(

Is anyone else having this problem?

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Is anyone even reading this?

    Help Please!

  • But how much money have you made off of a construct game?

$79 so far. I place 4th in the HBGames build and win contest, and won a Construct 2 Standard license worth $79 but I already own a Standard license so I gave it to someone that didn't win anything.

Do these games sell as easy as flash games? or easier?

I don't see why not. I have tried all of the known HTML5 game engines out there, and Construct 2 is by far the most advanced user friendly one on the market.

I haven't tried to sell any of my games yet. I am still working on developing the quality of my games. Once I am satisfied then I will move to the next faze, and try marketing, and selling my games.

I believe if you can make a good quality game it doesn't really matter what you made it with. A Construct 2 game should be able to sell just as easy as a flash game. It then becomes a matter of how you market, and sell your game which has nothing to do with the software it was made with, or the language it was programed in.

  • Your welcome OrdonianKing :)

I have tried all of the known HTML5 game engines out there, and Construct 2 is by far the most advanced, user friendly one on the market.

You can't go wrong with Construct 2 :D

Edit: No it's not useless :) But you can do more with the Eclipse IDE, and phonegap.

I was thinking this would be a great way to market a Construct 2 game but maybe bigger. I was thinking the Sears Tower in Chicago <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle"> Just have to figure out how to get past the Department of Homeland Security.

  • zak The go on freelancing was great back in the day when there wasn't much competition. If anyone ever tells you that competition is good for business there either a lair, or they are a giant in the industry that just buys out the competition as soon as they start to turn a profit. lol

In the late 1990s during the Dot-com boom was a great time to be a web developer. There were countless internet companies that pushed their stock valuations into the stratosphere even though they never made a penny. Every business wanted a web presence, and they all had plenty of money to spend. Not to mention there weren't many web developers around. Those were the best years to be a freelancer.

I don't really have the time anymore to freelance. I have a pretty good job as a web developer, I like getting weekly paychecks, health insurance, and payed vacations :) When I'm not working I am spending all my time developing games. That's really what I want to do now anyway :D

But I'm sure you will do just fine :) Good luck!

  • mrthehun I'm not from your area but this website http://www.internetfreedom.org/ has some information, and helpful tools that should help you get through China's (Golden-Shield).

  • I got a graphics card that's blacklisted by Firefox but I am getting between 20, and 25 FPS on Firefox with canvas2d which is about the same you would get on a mobile device.

    Canvas2d:

And in Google Chrome with webgl I'm getting between 55, and 60 FPS.

I'm not getting any noticeable lag just a 5 FPS fluctuation.

  • ZaksCommunicates Sorry I didn't post earlier but I downloaded your sample packs. I thought they were very well designed. Nice pro work :)

I also work as a web developer but where I work I cant be as creative. You make me miss freelancing. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your free samples with us, and don't stop producing them. I am sure they will be of benefit to people that cant make there own, and have no money.

Some times people are in just to much of a hurry to say thank you. Don't let it get you down :)

  • Did you place your player on layout 2's level? I usually just drag him out of the Projects/Object Types window folder onto the level I want him on.

  • Just make an object at the end of your layout like a door or something. Then in your event sheet for that level do something like this:

+Player: Is overlapping (The object you made)

-System: Go to layout (The next layout you want to go to)

  • Thank you Jonny for taking an interest in us. I find it very impressive that Microsoft a giant in the tech industry is interested in doing business with us Scirra / Construct2 guys. This just re-insures me that my decision to purchase Construct 2 was one of the best investments I ever made.

    To answer your questions:

How many of you Scirra / Construct2 guys are based in the USA?

I am based in the USA.

If we could find a way to package up a Construct2 game perhaps using phonegap would you have interest in getting your game into the Windows Phone 7 marketplace?

    Yes, most definitely!

Thanks again for taking the time to post here. You know that theirs not a lot of opportunity in the USA anymore. As a matter of fact there are about 17 million unemployed Americans that would jump at an opportunity like this.

  • I really like your game Era. The art, and music flow well together giving your game a bit of a bittersweet emotion to the whole game play. It was a little difficult navigating through the asteroids but I made it to the end. Well done! And congratulations on placing 2nd :)
