  • Are you trolling?

  • I prefer CocoonJS. Although its pretty buggy, it is the best out there.

  • Okay, I have done all the Java stuff. I have made the keystore file and signed my .apk

I just cant figure out how to Zipalign the apk. Its saying to do it in the Project window but I don't have a project. This apk was built from CocoonJS.

    EDIT

AHHH! Four hours later it is all working! w00t w00t, thanks for the reply.

  • Hey everyone,

Can anyone show me where I can download the Keytool, Jarsigner and Zipalign tool? And then how to get to the console. I may have already downloaded it with the Android SDK?

    Ugh so confusing! <img src="smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • No physics behavior? Well, I removed it and the ball still works. In fact most of the shuttering has gone away, although there is still some. I am going to make this change in my main project and see how it runs on a mobile.

    EDIT

Well, I removed the physics behavior, on both of my projects, and all of my errors have gone away. There is still some slight stuttering but at least it is now playable. This has even fixed a graphical error introduced with r129 when switching layouts.

And my parents wonder why I dropped out of Computer Programming in college >.< <img src="smileys/smiley7.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • ... You should stop using a cracked version and buy the program! It's worth every penny.

  • You would have an event sheet for each level. This would cover certain aspects of that level. For example a boss fight.

You would then just include your "Engine" event sheet at the top by right clicking and select "Include Event Sheet". This way you write the events, physics, ui and so on, only once.

  • I am having the exact same problems man. Huge performance drops on android devices. I thought upgrading to r129 would help, but its completely locked up. I can't use my app on any device now.

So, do I recommend updating? No.

Do you have a .capx we can look at?

  • Hey everyone! I am making the classic ball and paddle game. Through-out the whole process I have had issues with stuttering and performance. I eventually rewrote the entire project and went "ape-sh!t" on reducing file sizes and using the best optimization practices. Still, I am having issues.

I notice that other, more intense, games can be played with far better smoothness then mine can. So, I decided to do a test. I stripped everything out and only added one ball, one paddle, and three walls. I added the solids, bullet and physics behaviors where they were needed.

Guess what? Still stuttering....! I really don't understand what can be causing this problem. I must be doing something wrong. Below is my capx file. Thanks for any advice.

    .Capx

Decided to compile the above capx file and upload it to my phone for CocoonJS. Stuck at a blank screen.

    With console error.

Result of expression 'this.body.SetAwake' [undefined] is not a function.

    and Warnings.

    Not found getElementByld: c2canvasdiv

  • Has anyone figured out how to limit the frame rate yet?

Yes, I know all the reasons why I shouldn't but it is going to be used for an effect.

    Thank you,

    Stephen

  • Yes, I am using the Physics behavior. I am going to run some more tests today, with other capx files. Only thing I can really do until Cocoon fixes this issue, lol.

  • Well its the exact same .capx from r128. All I did was open my project and recompile it for CocoonJS (wanting to see the new physics support).

So, the logical assumption is, that something from r129 is causing this issue.

  • Link to .capx file (required!):

Only happens after being compiled into an APK file.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Turn game on.

    2. Go from Level Select layout to any level.

    Observed result:

Flashing screen. Flashes between Level Select layout and the current level loaded.

    Expected result:

    No flashing.

    Browsers affected:

    Chrome: no

    Firefox: no

    Internet Explorer: no

    Operating system & service pack:

    Windows 7 SP1 64-bit

    Construct 2 version:

    r129

    CocoonJS

    Test Hardware:

    Samsung Galaxy S2 (4.1.1)

    Kobo Arc (4.1.1)

  • Here is a sample of what I am currently using. This should be all that you need. Remember to tag all your background music the same. Hope this helps.
