  • You can't please everyone

Just like the line in Wayne's World ... "Led Zeppelin didn't write songs that everybody liked, they left it to the Beatles."

I reckon, keep making what you love and stay true to yourself, it's obviously working for you!

Haha, indeed! Already several new titles in the making, we will see what will be the next.

I am updating Mazeing with some new levels first, tho.

  • Hey dude

Bought you game and I really like it. The difficulty ramps up nicely and the game keeps things fresh

I also liked you previous game 'Trambo'.

    Congrats on the feature!!

PS. Nothing wrong with LO-FI or retro, if it's right (and yours is). They're styles of their own and a lot of the time I prefer playing minimalist looking games, over AAA titles.

Hey thanks a lot! Much appreciated.

Yeah, this intentionally crude retro stuff really divides people. Apple likes it and even Chillingo reached out to me on Twitter giving Mazeing some public love. Then there's always those 1-star hate reviews one can't avoid with a game like this.

    Anyways, thanks again!

  • I never really thought about all these things, especially marketing, when I think about being a gamedev, its always about making my own dream game, something that I want to play.

That's a great reason to make games in my opinion. Passion for your craft.

I also have several dream projects but I am trying to get better by making several smaller games and little experiments I can finish fast (and I remember you doing the same earlier).

There's no one way to make it, that's for sure.

  • Looks great and ambitious. I'll give it a thumbs up on Steam. Good luck!

  • I don't even know what lessons can be learnt from this.

This was a great read, just stumbled upon it on Gamasutra Twitter! Really sorry about the sales tho.

The markets are very saturated and we need to make crazy good games to really stand out. "Good is not enough" is a brilliant way to put it. Also, I think we need to be prepared for failure and simply push on even after failing.

    Not everyone makes it.

  • started this today. Imagine fast chiptune track in the background

Love this, getting some serious VVVVVV vibes!

  • cool! can i have the promocode?

    Here you go: KPEJHXLTJH99

Mazeing is doing quite nicely on UK and US charts, cool!

  • Yeah, the ONLY thing with the old CJS is no direct admob support and that's a killer for me. It's my only reason for wanting to jump to cordova/cocoon.io.

Yeah, that's a bummer because everything else works quite nicely atm.

  • I'm not too impressed with Cocoon.io myself and the pricing is ridiculous. The old compiler still seems to work and I'll stick to that for the time being.

It seems I really have to jump to Unity (or GM like you) soon, the future seems dark for mobile devs with C2.

Edit: Whoa, this post feels way too whiny when I read it again. Hmm. It's just that I'm a tad disappointed with this never-ending waiting game.

I'm actually quite happy with the results I've had with the old Cocoon... just worried about the future.

  • Love the Sound Effects too btw

Thanks, that's cool to hear because this was the first game I made all by myself. I also feel the sounds suit the graphics nicely!

  • It seems we are both featured this week, wow!

  • Here's a working link: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/fallen/id994175174?mt=8

(the rep system is a pain in the ass sometimes)

    Looking really good!
