  • Beautifully little game, massive congrats on the feature! Did you have a contact at apple to help with this, or was it totally out of the blue?

    Thanks, means a lot!

Apple scans sites like TouchArcade regularly and my earlier games have been covered there. Both of those games were also featured worldwide at launch and I develop exclusively for iOS atm. These are the kind of things that I _think_ help. Apple is a super large company and quite secretive, so your guess is as good as mine.

That said, I had not heard _anything_ from Apple beforehand and just noticed this when I woke up. I think this time it's a combination of luck and earlier featuring!

This is old, but still relevant: http://blog.anylistapp.com/2012/08/app-store/

The other thing is that paid games like Mazeing are a rarity these days and it really seems Apple likes to push us little basement developers to the spotlight every once in a while. Can't complain!

The features change tonight and only then we'll see is this really happening.

  • New idle stance in non-combat zones (similar to Secret of Mana) - and level editing is dialed in with Tiled. Next, going to implement a dialog system.

I want to play this! Looks fantastic. I also really dig the palette.

  • Hey peeps! I released a new game today:

    This lofi-minimalism is done to death, I know, but I can't help it. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_twisted.gif" alt="" title="Twisted Evil">

Apple seems to really like it tho (phew!): https://twitter.com/robotegames/status/639490648605872128

I used CocoonJS. Worked fine because the game is so tiny. I also have a few promocodes to spare, in case you guys would like to test this for free.

Psst, I also released this a few days ago in case you need some swipe controls for your mobile game: https://www.scirra.com/store/royalty-fr ... keasy-1258

  • Skeasy — Now for sale in the Scirra Store!

  • I've been revamping some stuff in Dungeon Buster. Today is weapon and item pickups:

Love the shadows, makes everything feel alive. Nice work!

  • Yeah, nice stuff! Remember seeing that one featured once upon a time.

  • I'm finishing a tiny endless skimulator called Skeasy for Scirra Arcade and store (as a template). I've been digging these swipe-controls so much I want to share them with the community.

  • Hmm, weird. The twitter-widget shows up when revisiting the layout it's on. Huh?

  • Hiya! So, what am I doing wrong here?

Twitter plugin (the one that comes with C2) works fine when previewing the game, but when exported (plain HTML5) it just disappears. What up?

Is there something I'm missing here?

  • Thank you for the demo!

I enjoyed the minimalistic aesthetics and sounds very much. Stylish.

However, at the moment the game is way too hard for me to enjoy and made me ragequit quite fast!

That said, I feel that people who love games of this genre prefer them tough as nails and I am just a wussy casual gamer myself.

Setting the difficulty just right is a difficult decision!

  • Wow, love everything about this!

  • Can't decide what style I like more, clean and high resolution lines or fuzzy, low resolution ones. I made a video to compare the two

    https://youtu.be/hq-I0wp0XPI

For what it's worth, IMO the high resolution lines look a lot better. The visuals really pop.

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • Either way I'm not too fussed really, just promised myself I'd release a game this year and Orbit development is still quite slow, Brute is intentionally minimalist and constrained so that I can at least release this initial version of the game and be happy

K, sounds pretty familiar! I feel it is better to know your limitations and just release something to clear the table. It is easy to get stuck on prototyping.

    Good luck.

  • Wow! Man, I always love your stuff so much. You have a strong style going on. What platform are you targeting this time?

  • Okay, trying Cocoon.io and Cordova now. It seems I'm a bit out of the loop.
