    I agree, this is a good idea. Not only that, but it's a logical idea... one would expect this of an object that's been marked 'global.'

  • If you're going to use " inside expressions, you have to double it up, eg:

    "<font face=""Arial"">test"

    Otherwise, the parser would have no way of knowing whether you intended to end the expression or not .

  • The HTML object is simply for displaying HTML formatted text (bold, italic, underline), anything else won't work; what does this HTML file contain?

  • Construct currently has Direct-X and application runtimes, using the same exporter.

    However, it is entirely possible for new exporters to be plugged in, so a web page exporter is not out of the question, but unlikely till the main exporter and runtimes are done (1.0).

  • I play a lot of piano too! Mostly i'm practicing acrobatics, since i'm going to a cirkus scool. I also do a lot of card-manipulation. Last two weeks i've been spending about 50% of my awake time to watch that 70's show. I've allmost seen all seasons now! For the third time..

    Acrobatics!? Well, Construct users must be agile to be able to avoid random crashes and bugs coming out from every possible place .

    I play a lot of piano - keyboard in a band- play squash/football, and laze around as much as humanly possible (haven't been in anything you'd call employment for 3 years now ). Played some online poker and still play occasionally, though it requires effort..

  • If someone posts a list of IPs which have made public edits, I'll run them by the forum and try match any users.

  • As an application can have multiple layout/event sheets open for editing, closing one doesn't mean that others won't be edited. In addition, the resources, properties etc for applications and layouts can be edited without editors, and things like global variables and families/containers edited.

  • There were some changes to the way 3D was drawn recently, to improve the speed, so it's likely this is a result of that. This will be looked into, and hopefully fixed for the next build.

  • Hey there, welcome to the forums.

    The hotspot centering idea is a good un', I've wanted that a couple of times myself.

    With regard to storing sounds/music in the EXE, you can do this via the Resource Bar (should be docked on the right hand side, in a tab). Right click Binary Resources to add files; DirectSound can play these using the 'Autoplay from resource' action. The icon for the application can also be edited here, though I think it needs more work (IE, the ability to change different modes of icon).

    If you have any crashes or problems, try to forgive them as Construct does make huge progress every build, and is edging its way to stability . Don't forget to report them, as explained here:

    They should then be fixed fairly quickly.
