  • This may or may not be possible, depending on if Scintilla (the editor we use) has the necessary functionality.

I like the idea of being able to click on expression names though, and replace them easily.

  • Going to bump this to receive some more requests for the Object Bar.

It now shows the animations of objects when clicked, and supports dragging of objects into the frame (to create a new instance), and has the standard layout editor right click menu.

    Anything else?

  • I think there needs to be some more AI objects to faciliate this kinda stuff, maybe a behavior which allows you to set up an object to randomly move, in paths, and to chase/attack a player. Ashley has created an RTS object in the past which handled some useful stuff like attacks and defense, which would also be handy (hint).

  • It's currently not doable, due to MediaWiki being kinda hard to do permissions with.

There's only 3 classes, unregistered, registered and sysop. We need to create a new class for editors, because handing out sysop access to everyone is a bad idea <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" />.

    Will look into it today.

  • Not to spark a holy war or anything, but religion's an interesting topic we haven't really touched upon.

Do you believe in a higher power? A creator God? Do you think evolution is a myth?

Personally I've believed in a higher power/creator for some time intermittently, as I sometimes think life is too immense and incredibly complex to completely have evolved (I'm an ardent follower of evolution, nonetheless). Equally whilst not religious, I can see how it bonds society together and is an integral part of our world, so I'm all for it (except extremists).

  • Anything over 20 degrees and no rain and everyone cheers for joy..

Our summer this year was one or two hot weeks since June, and then mediocrity and rain. Enough moaning though, I sound like a grumpy old man

  • You don't need to placate us.. we all know how crappy England really is

Stepped off an airplane back from Egypt where it was 25 degrees at 2am.. and it's raining and less than 10 degrees in England.

    Go global warming!

  • With Ashley out of the picture now is the chance for total domination! Anyone who doesn't post on my topics gets banned for a week...and its a requirement that you include the word 'Australia' and 'awesome' in the posts!...otherwise u get banned...twice!

    You're banned.

  • At the moment it's a 32x32 icon. Windows supports bigger ones (Vista up to 256x256) so in future there'll be a way to have a bigger icon.

  • There was a bug in this, but it's fixed now.

In the next build, you can use 'Read file line by line' and then in a new event the 'On line read' will trigger for every line.

This is actually pretty interesting.. a part of me wants something to go catastrophically wrong .

  • I think the New Template/Example dialog should cater for more default properties, though more preferences are on their way very soon .

  • AI is completely possible, though of course complex AI would require a lot of work.

Pathfinding, collision avoidance etc is best done with the RTS behavior, which can do what you mentioned. Programming enemy behavior is a difficult topic to generalise, though there's some examples out there.

  • An SDL port was progressing okay, though I've used Allegro recently and would be inclined to use it in the Construct runtime when multi-platform runtimes come to be made.

The current SDL fork renders fairly well and quickly, but would be pretty hard to make work on any other platform, so it wouldn't be considered for a while yet.
