  • Your game is beautiful! Congratulations.

Couldn't advance beyond that left & right block switch level though. :)

    Thanks ;)

Yes, I think I've exaggerated in the in the difficulty curve...

But hey, that's what the feedback is for, right?

I'll post a walkthrough in the meantime...

  • > Well, the idea was always to keep the screen in the same position, it works fine that way because of the gravity of the objects. Also, once you get the hang of it it's not that difficult to control...

Yeah, it is nice, but I made a cap a while back (here), which kinda shows what I mean for moving left and right when gravity is down/up.

    Thanks for your feedback.

I left the controls inverted on purpose, thinking it would be a fun challenge. But people seem to find it too hard... I'll have to consider changing it...

Well, it seems that the main difficulty is in the controls, it'd be nice if either the screen rotated with the player, or the controls moved the player relative to the screen rotation instead.

Otherwise, it seems just right =D

What about the difficulty? Did you find it too hard or too easy?

    Hello fellow contructors!

I need some feedback on this one. I did this prototype in two weeks and it has been abandoned in my hard drive since then (for several months).

Now that I look at it I actually like it. The problem is that the "code" is a real mess, almost unfixable, but I'm considering to start everything from scratch, even polishing the artwork. I was also designing a level editor for this one, with save/import/export features, wich I think is great for this kind of game.

What do you think? I need some opinions on weather or not should I keep working on it or not.

I'm only considering because it was really fast to develop and it might have some potential...

Enough talk, download the demo and try it here

(Hurray! Finally I posted something playable!)

    Controls:

Arrows to move, Z to jump, Enter to enter doors.

Play the tutorial for more advanced controls :P

  • This would be awesome...

    Pretty please?

  • I suppose if the editor is better than mine for the features it shares, then I could port my code over and build off of their editor if it's a liberal enough license. Could end up being a good thing.

still though....damn them all to hell!!! j/k rayman origins does look damn lovely

    Dont' worry,

From what I've seen of your work I'm sure your engine will be amazing. BTW, is it code or event based?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • If everything ends as expected, It will be great!!!

    Let's just hope that no coding knowledge is necessary <img src="smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Thanks for the link, pyteo. Just downloaded and tried the demo game and it is much better than AGS. Looks very easy to use also.

    Thanks <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    No problem ;)

  • I think the best for you would be visioanire: visionaire-studio.net/cms/adventure-game-engine.html

Much better than AGS for several reasons.

It has a free version which doesn't export exe, but the engine is very cheap.

No script necessary, it has an event system similar to construct and it supports 1080p.

    It does paralax, Ags doesn't.

There are already good commercial games made whit it, like "The Whispered World".

  • I am trying to get an explosion sound for a boss ship but when it plays, it is static and choppy. The file, in VLC, plays fine. I tried it on an unused channel, 3, but same results. What could cause this, if anything?

    Thanks.

    That happens a lot.

In the Xaudio object properties uncheck "Limiter enabled".

    I hope it helps ;)

Is that what you wanted the scarf thingy for?

I don't think the Sprite ribbon would look quite right for that.

I think your looking for something like Viewtiful Joe, or a Spawnish kind of effect.
