    Hello my friend :)

Actually i have 4 primary projects I'm working on, one of them for A game company at Qatar G-lab , after that I might start to work on my visual novel project.

beside that's i recently got iclone5 and poser, and I'm learning a bit with those 3d softwares, I'm thinking to use pre-rendered 3d graphics for VN proj, not sure if it's realistic or anime syle, but for now the project officially paused for aftermath <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle">.

  • To be honest, C2 free edition is actually what made my payment <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

The Trial module of apps should be forbidden now, I'm kind of person that hate downloading something that might ended to uninstall, or bothered with pop up that telling me i should pay or how many days left this kind of irrespective for customers!!, with many options and free apps rising already, I'm afraid your idea might reflect badly on what scirra currently doing..

GameMaker also support lite version which made it so famous for many indie dev, i also recently heard rpg maker vx ace will support lite edition instead of trial module, this mean they noticed the now-day customers are more aware than yesterday, and their is too much competition at software markets with freebies support..

  • This is not Construct 2 fault, sorry but i just buy C2 for what it's aimed for, HTML5 GAME MAKER.

this how C2 is good at, mobile is just need time, in fact I trust Ashley words, he is right, the HTML5 is improving day by day, just try to compare html5 from dec 2011 and after dec 2012 ? their a huge improvements and that took just one year, i remember how html5 was so buggy and i remembered how tigsource filled with users saying this worst option for web game, and flash shouldn't die etc..

for mobile games, i use gamemaker studio, i hate to be like advertising another tool, but i just want to say, C2 is best for html5 game making tool who is fast forward and with easy physics support & webgl shaders.

yes it would be cool to have native export, but you should all understand this just one man effort, and the only support from you to him is to buy and spread the words about C2, it's possible one day native export will happen, or in fact the html5 might do the trick someday but not yet, hopefully soon.

in fact i believe this blame should goes to browsers and mobile manufactures, the issue might be more political than to be technical i believe..

    sorry for my bad english.

  • Congrats Scirra <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

    Oh? my friend finally arrived <img src="smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

welcome to Scirra Construct forums, a great and helpful community   <img src="smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • to be honest, if i'm in your place i would buy Construct 2 instantly for HTML5 and web games development as a main focus, beside that the mobile apps development within HTML5 still improving but not the best with wrapped apps yet, and this not scirra fault or even html5 fault, but the mobile manufacture them self, they still didn't enable webgl for their browsers.

and regarding gamesalad, i guess for mac users is a good choice, but if it's follow years subscription system, than i won't waste my time with it, i already quit stencyl with the same reason, but for native support, i guess gamemaker: studio as repleacment worth it in every penny ;).

  • Yep as long as it's a 2D game, but will requiring you more efforts than what rpg maker had offered you, for example the dialogue events, inventory, attributes storage and npc database etc.. need start from scratch with C2, if you have a rich knowledge with java script you might shortcut the efforts with some plugins that might helping you with rpg genre within C2.

  • rom the looks of it, it requires programming/coding knowledge, specifically Javascript.

with that's part alone, enough to differ what C2 is aimed for.

  • o what I have gotten there is still no clear best way for mobile and it's still in progress.

Don't get me wrong Construct 2 has came a long ways in a short time, but it sounds like it still has a little ways to go before prime time mobile apps are easily created.

Actually this not Construct 2 or either HTML5 fault, it's slow because the mobile manufacture still slowly improving their HTML5 browser support and look like they hesitant to enable webgl in thier browser too, but hopefully the day will come :)

right now i see cocoonJS and phonegap is the right way for apps.

  • the opposite are available though

    Google Swiffy

  • 1) This is on the todo list!

    that's good ;D

    2) No new features are necessary for this, just put your object logic in a subevent like 'Is on screen', and all its logic will stop running when it goes offscreen

that's awesome, didn't know about it for the logic part

    3) Sounds like something best suited to a third party plugin - I think you can already get by fine with the built-in objects for this, but a third party plugin could help make this specific case a little easier.

the reason i request this is to make it a bit faster and easier, sense i tried to do it before and i searched about in forum, hopefully we can see a useful dialogue plugin that won't breaking too much when exporting the game :)

anyway, thank you so much Ashley ;)
