  • Did not find the solution yet. Just a temporary one. Basically stick it in Dropbox's public folder, then copy/paste the public link from the game's index. 8)

  • Agree on all points. 8)

darkpivot: Thanks for the compliments. Yeah, i had a couple people tell me the spikes are hard to see. I will fix that for the next build. I'll fix the death jingle as well. Thanks for playing! 8)

  • I seem to be having trouble with my game previewing on Kongregate. The url is correct, because the game plays fine on MarketJS. What am i doing wrong? I exported it as Kongregate.

This is the error on the preview, i'm getting.

    Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /demo.html on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache Server at pixolpalette.com Port 80

This is the URL i put: pixolpalette.com/demo.html

The game is not a demo by the way, its the full game. (have not renamed the page yet)

  • Ashley been hit with the exporter bug. I don't blame him though, as he is trying to be competitive with other game makers. But these exporters are not ready or too new. 8P

I like to see new plugins and features that pertain to gameplay as well. An editor that works fantastic for tiles would be wonders. The current one is only good for web/mobile, single stage stuff.

  • Surface is a 2D pixel arcade game, where you must reach the top of the stage as fast as you can while avoiding creatures and hazards along the way. Their are currently 8 stages with 1 bonus stage to be unlocked in the full version. You can play a demo currently on MarketJS that has 3 stages. The game supports both keyboard and gamepad. The game character can perform 4 actions in the game: jump, ground dash, air dash, and air stomp. Press A on the keyboard/gamepad to jump. Hold right or left key/buttom first, then S(keyboard)/X(gamepad) to dash on ground. Press the same thing in air to perform an air dash. Hold down key/button first, then S(keyboard)/X(gamepad) to do a air stomp. I have only tested the gamepad with the 360 controller, so your action buttons on a gamepad may vary. Just remember you cannot attack anything in the stage, as the main objective is to get to the finish line as fast as you can.

    Update: 11/10/2012

Version 1.5 is out. I added a midpoint spawn to the stages, so its less frustrating to play. I have also fixed the music clashing with the death tune. The spikes in stages 1&2 are more obvious this time around for those who could not tell them apart from the background. Lastly, i updated my fonts so they appear to have spacing.

The game is intended for an audience who likes challenging games. If your not one of them, please wait for version 2.0. I'll add a difficulty

    mode for beginners.

Thanks for checking the game out. 8)

  • I been waiting for this as well. 8| Perhaps Pode could take it up. ;D

  • Thanks everyone who contacted me. This position has been filled, but will keep in contact if the slot free's up. 8)

  • I'm looking to team up with a willing musician for my nearly complete game, Surface. Demo will be provided to try out before you decide.

Like stated, the game is roughly 80 percent finished. I'm at the state where i need some retro chip tune music for the gameplay and intro/ending parts of the game. If you can do sound effects as well that would be great.

As for payment, i cannot offer upfront cash, but will split profits 60/40 on marketjs and other sites etc. I will also, as a thanks for teaming up, help with any of your projects needing art assets. Pixel and painting.

Anyone interested you may pm me on here. Thanks for looking and have a great day. <img src="smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • If they get approved, i think they might be able to make a deal with valve. Valve doesn't give its steamworks API to game developers, until your game is approved.

  • Yeah, i am getting the closing the app crash as well. Windows 7 64bit
