  • Rather than create an object adding collision checks and resources I would use random with range...

example, random(50,200) will give a random between 50 and 200...

    hope it helps...

  • Looks nice and easy to control...

    Good job though!

It's akin to taking an Olympic runner and putting a stone in his shoe...

No wibbly wobbly effects, slow and steady...

  • xylophone! <plink>

  • Did someone say retro?...so far so good, nice sound, graphics are suitably retro, more than that you have reproduced the feel of old arcade games, and that's the difficult bit...

I tested on firefox suffered a little on the framerate at times and game must be running in a high res as I could not see some of the screen,my screen res is 1024,768 so maybe a low res option for added retro-ness, and may help the framerate too...

  • ArcadEd

Thanks for the comments, I hope you like it as much as I have enjoyed developing it.

This will be the first game that I have published, so I am just looking into My options at the moment...

  • Update, after some extensive testing on android, all being well I will be releasing this on various market places later this week...

  • I have downloaded C2 about 5 times today, but no email, also noted nobody has the "million day" badge yet, are the email and badge to follow?

Edit: I read above, someones already mentioned it...

  • That's nothing, sometimes clicking on My profile, gives the message I am unregistered and I don't exist...

    Maybe related?

  • Ha, novel idea!... <groan>

Looks like this would appeal to the crossword bunch, any bonus for getting a rude word to match the phrase?

    Good luck with this...

  • PM sent...

  • Worked for me in firefox on windows XP...

I liked Your "tutorial" section with the informative arrow...

I think it's not bad for a first effort, but to me the game lacks focus, you seem to spend most of the time at the far right waiting for another platform, barely feeling threatened by the block bird...

some nice touches showing a sense of humour, the characters eyes looking around for example...

also on my system after dying I had to refresh the browser, to play again as clicking everywhere was fruitless...

will add an irk of mine is having to click to advance when I have just played game with keyboard...

  • However You cut the numbers it's a lot of people still using XP for sure...Me being one of them.

I don't see it as any surprise that many still use XP, lets face it you go buy a more powerful PC install a more recent resource eating, bloated O.S and voila your PC is the same speed...

Not only that but a PC is usually full of a users private, documents, work, photos, programs ect ect, collected over many years that may not be compatible with a newer O.S or they simply do not feel the need to upgrade when their current P.C and O.S does everything they ask of it...

  • I'd have thought the older games massive H.U.D's were a technical decision to reduce the amount of rendering in them thar early 3D days...

So for that reason I will say Doom HUD is my fave, as it was minimalist but to the point also showed your bloodied mugshot as you got fragged up, always nice...

  • I think HTML5 has been a great springboard to get Construct 2 where it is Today, indeed Chrome has been it's special move...

Maybe not now, maybe not this year, but long term I seriously think it would be better for C2 to detach from HTML5's apron strings, peer out from google's wing and become not only "The HTML5 game creator" but "The game creator"

Relying on third parties has set Construct 2 back a few times now, fingers crossed that won't happen again...

Many of the forum members wanting to see a native exporter have moved on from Classic, maybe we have seen the grass can be greener...
