  • It seems Game Maker Studio has actually LISTENED to their customers for once.

the base version is now totally free to use if you don't sell your games.

and more importantly, you can now pay a ONE OFF fee to then be able to sell your games.

Do you hear that devs, a ONE TIME fee!!! ....like Construct 2,remember?

This is soooooooooo much better than a subscription and it's a no brainer to me.

I'm only hoping you come to your senses one day and also dump this repugnant subscription model.

Until then, you'll find me on the GM forums. ciao

  • > if I pay for a month and then immediately cancel, will I still be able to use the full software for the month I paid for or will it be cut off?

Yes, you can use the remainder of the period you've paid for when you cancel.

Thank you! that's all I wanted to know. Great!

  • Thanks! yes I hope it works that way.

I had hoped one of the devs/mods would confirm it but I guess the only way to confirm it is to pay for a month and see. :)

  • Hello,

if I pay for a month and then immediately cancel, will I still be able to use the full software for the month I paid for or will it be cut off?

(The reason is, I am not a fan of subscription software, but I'm willing to pay for a month here and there, certainly not going to leave it ongoing though)

    Thanks

  • yavilink You can use a grid (tilemap) if it makes things easier for you. And there are many behaviors which you can use to move objects on a grid:

TileMovement to move from tile to tile

MoveTo - perhaps preferable in your case

    Tween

    Pathfinding

    etc.

    Thank you

  • You can use my example: dropbox.com/s/p2p9h1b2ite63bq/tomb_miner.capx

Thanks, I got it and it looks ideal but I can't test it as I don't have anything

with a touch screen, but I'll study your event list.

    Thank you!

  • Thank you.

  • Hi, I am trying to work on a simple puzzle game. What I want is grid movement

(all my blocks are 32x32) but I want it so if you press right, you move right but

in steps of 32 until you hit a wall and then the movement ends. (same for the

    other 3 directions)

So you press down and the player starts moving down in 32 pixel steps until it hits

    a wall.

How can I do movement like this?

I can use gridmovement to move in 32px steps but the continuous thing until hitting

a wall. Not sure how to do it.

  • is there an official C3 discord server?

I have done some searching but to no avail.

    Thanks

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads

Tbh it is pointless even discussing this, Ashley & Co are determined to run C3 off a cliffs edge and into oblivion, we've had our say, so now it's time to move on to other software and let C3 crash and burn.

Perhaps a few months down the line if subs are really bad, they'll rethink things, but until then no point going over it all tbh. just move on but keep one eye on the forums.

Well, I've just bought GMS2 (Game Maker Studio 2) and by FAR the main reason is that C3 is heading to sub only, GMS2 is one price buy it and own it.

So sadly, as much as I enjoyed Construct 2, I'm now moving platform.

(I hope a lot of people do the same, why? because then perhaps Scirra will see the light and give us a one off price ..at which point I may purchase it and return)

Take care all, bye (for now at least)

I bought and love Construct 2.

If C3 goes subscription then I will not buy it, the price simply does not matter, its the principle! I want to pay once and own the software to use when and how I like. I will never "subscribe" to any software even if its $1 a year.

Please stop this silly decision and let us buy it. even if its outside my current budget, I can save up and buy it in a month or 2 or 6 or whatever. Go subscription only and I will never buy it and will move to other software.
