  • A degree is definitely not required to work in this industry, more so if the degree is outdated and somewhat irrelevant. And remember, you don't have to be an employee! You can run your own company if you want, but it needs a great investment of your part, and it's way riskier (being an employee it's easy way).

  • I'll try and raise issues for both the Fullscreen and this issue.

  • Good thing you got it sorted, because I can't even remember how I did that, lol =P

  • Yeah, it's a beta, but I'm using C2 to publish very small apps for now. Considering that I only use VS to edit a couple things and publish, a 6 GB minimum install + all the "bloat" they add to a PC it's a lot.

I'm trying to and make VS "15" work now ASAP. It seems that the latest version, Preview 4, already works, so now it's time to find out exactly what packages do we need.

I hope we get fixes (Windows Store plugin) along this Xbox fad soon, because right now microtransactions don't work.

  • i think you should try this:

export game as html, open visual studio 2015 (not "15", that's an old preview version), download newest (google download visual studio community).

The whole idea of this thread is to use VS "15", not Visual Studio 2015. VS "15" latest version (Preview 4) was released yesterday: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news ... 5-relnotes

  • I wanted to post a followup on this since VS "15" Preview 4 was released:

I'm not sure what are the bare mininum packages yet, but I was able to load the project correctly, and try a debug with a Windows Store object (with Test Mode On).

Will update with more news later.

  • So, to keep it super short, I want to make an Android Live Wallpaper app, using everything I can do from Construct 2. I know it isn't instantly deployable, but I want to make something like a tamagotchi via a Live Wallpaper.

    Any help on this subject?

  • I have no idea about linux systems at all.

  • You can generate an .exe via NW.js and use NSIS or any other installer to install the app.

  • Already done, and itch.io lets you take any % of the sales you want.

  • "Windows 8" object doesn't exist anymore was changed to "Windows Store" to reflect UWP apps.

Yeah, it's the same issue as my topic.

  • I'm sorry, but considering that UWP support is terrible right now (you can't even try to publish an app with proper monetization), I don't see how Xbox Live support would help. Also, Construct 2 is the cheapest game engine, and we also need to consider that to build an Xbox app you need to wipe all your data, developers are expected to have two Xbox One, one to play, one to develop, which is probably less than 1-2% of the current C2 userbase.

I love C2, but no one really publishes stuff in Xbox, even less on Wii.

Please, focus on fixing Windows Store support for Windows first (100% of C2 userbase, which will grow a lot since the latest Anniv. Update) and THEN think about other stuff like Xbox.

AFAIK, Idefds@XBOX also isn't interested in indies, they only care about very high profile games. I don't think C2 could help them, though I would love if they care more about us now.

  • Problem Description

I'm not sure if this is related to

But the issue is simple: If you need to use the Windows Store action, you won't be able to publish. Not many people are using C2 to build Windows Apps, but it's a great tool to do so and I wish to use it!

    Read steps to reproduce, please.

    Steps to Reproduce Bug

    • Start a new project and configure basic stuff like name, ID, URL, etc.
    • Add a Windows Store action
    • Set "Test Mode" to "off", which is required to publish!
    • Save the project
    • Export to Windows Store
    • Load the solution in Visual Studio 2015 Update 3
    • Try and run the app

    Observed Result

Visual Studio will generate an exception, here's a screenshot:

This is the code that Visual Studio highlighted:

    Expected Result
