  • First: Please increase the width of the text field for the Subject! It's really small =(

Second: If there's a way to enable "Basic Mode" of the Text Editor by default, please provide us with it. The current popup implementation is very uncomfortable.

Third: Bold text is unnoticeable. If you might alter the CSS for it, I would be very grateful.

Also, if there's a way to switch to Office like commands (like using Ctrl+B to enable/highlight Bold), please also enable it.

    Thanks!

  • Hutto - yes, the design can actually work. And it IS doable on Construct 2, but it's extremely complex.

We're talking about hundreds of variables, if statements, etc.

This is not a project you will complete in less than six months, and this is only mentioning just the "code". You need to add art, sfx, music and other stuff on top of it.

And for what you mention at the beginning, you don't need a GD, you need sensible QA.

Doable? Yes. Alone? Think about a couple years in the making. One year and a half if you're taking this as a daily job.

Oh, and add another year for Multiplayer. I don't think all that might be actually doable on Construct 2, though.

  • OK, so I want to make at least one playable room with the Free version, which should be doable.

Then I'll keep on learning other stuff until a 50% discount is up =P

What's needed for the kind of game I'm aiming:

    • New Font (extremely important)
    • Intro
    • Menu
    • Dialogue System (extremely important)
    • Small Inventory (2-3 Objects Max)
    • Small Character Roster (2-3 Max)

I've watched a couple of videos about doing Dialogue with Events + Variables but it was completely messy.

I need a better system, taking text out of a file might be great. I read about some XML plugin? Or maybe there's a better way?

I think the keyword here is "ramifications". I want this small room to have like 4-5 endings, depending on Dialogue Choices and Objects collected.

I'm thinking more To The Moon than Monkey Island, and if I have to scrap the inventory system, so be it. I'd rather have more dialogue.

  • Hi all!

I'm really interested on making not-so point and clicky adventures, I think I'll mostly need an inventory (or maybe a couple variables) and dialogue.

I'm thinking more To The Moon, less Monkey Island.

Personally, I find most Daedalic games AWFUL. Not in terms of dialogue or gameplay itself (Deponia is their best effort), but Visionaire is full of bugs. I got stuck on A New Beginning twice, and had to Ctrl+Alt+Del out of it. So Visionaire is a no go.

AGS might be up to the task, since I find most Wadget Eye Games almost perfect, but I specifically WANT to use Construct 2.

Specially after seeing what it's capable of.

And of course, there's this new, complete and fully featured game on KickStarter, The Slaughter (google it).

  • What. This absolutely fantastic game is made on Construct? Classic, on top of it?

I did play quite a bit of the old Treasure Adventure Game.

Congrats on what you've already developed, and can't wait to see it released on Steam =)
