  • Hey,

I'm having a little trouble with Z-index. I'm working on the "field" part of a game that is RPG. Think of how you move around in old-school Final Fantasy games and the like. Problem is that I need to have access to detailed Z-index functions such as moving an instance's Z-index one down or one up, or placing it in front/behind of a specific object. For example, when the player is in front of a sign, I need to move the sign behind the player and when the player is behind the sign, I need to move the sign in front of the player. These kinda games have many, many objects that the player will walk by in only one layout and this is why objects need to be moved when needed.

I am aware these options aren't available yet and were added to the to do list a long while back, but still haven't been added and I do believe that these are crucial features for a lot of games. Is there a work around for this? Or a plugin that I have missed? I have tried many things but nothing works how I want it to.

    Thank you.

Thanks a lot, even though the app. is discontinued, it is pretty damn neat and also, that thread answered my question, since I read that Tom is working on a solution for this very important part of C2; plugins/behaviours. Here's hoping to hear news about this feature and thanks again.

  • Will there be an easier way to keep up to date on plugins updates/releases? Like notifications of some sort when a new plugin is released and/or notifications when an existing plugin is updated? <img src="smileys/smiley25.gif" border="0" align="middle" />

  • Bottom line: do research on what you are buying, it's plain and simple.

I'm an early adopter, I supported this great software from the start and also gave it as a gift to someone and would do it all again. I first played around with the demo for a little while, read about it as well and THEN decided to spend money on it. Despite my wish for an .exe exporter back then, it did not take a genius to realize what C2 could do and in the end, the .exe export/wrapper is finally here. If you just jump in and blow money on stuff without first taking the time to research, you are gonna have a baaad time. In my view, it's yer own responsibility and ONLY yers to know what you are buying, don't blame anybody else but yer own lack of diligence, if not, intelligence when buying something. So Scirra did nothing wrong here, you did.

  • boolean: It must be something in yer settings or a site bug. Try to sort the threads by date (not sure if possible.), see if it works. My account is fine, I dunno why you are seeing these posts.

On a different note, using the eraser in C2 is not practical and would take forever to take the BG off a sprite, let alone hundreds. As of now I use other graphics tools to remove BG colors. Still hoping this is implemented on C2.

  • It would also be useful that if you double click on the object's name (or just as an option on the right-click menu), it would let you choose a different object of the same class but retaining the same actions.

  • I get these boxes sometimes but never with C2. It happens on actual websites. It has been a while since I do not get it, so I am not sure if it's actually a bug with yer graphics card or something else. This is definitely not a C2 issue though.

  • Tried html5 games last night on the 360 and it runs surprisingly smooth.

  • Yeah, this would be nice to have. Even if it's not fully supported.

  • Kill swtich.

  • Thanks Very important details you provided. Nobody mentions that in the threads I've read.

  • > ... I was testing an advertising service ...

Don't you mean 'I was spamming'?

    LOL

  • 3D, I hope never. That should be a different software, I think.

Multiplayer, this would be great to have.

And I do not think Scirra has a set "last release".

  • Ashley: Here.

    Last event is the one.

  • Very interesting. I am getting an old school vibe from this and I am really digging it. Great work.
