  • you definitely should make a couple of games to present your skills if you aim for commissions but it is also a good way to make a type of portfolio. There are websites like newgrounds or scirras arcade section where you can upload your game and earn reputation from it. Sometimes these works get notied and you get contacted by ppl who are looking for talented game creators but if you want to target websites that sell the games, you should still have something to show so they don't think you are a fraud or something. Websites like elance also offer projects that involve html5 game making, I earned there 200$ for making a simple one. Just look trough the forum, im sure there are already topics involving the moneymaking part. Oh, and try to include contact information to your games, it helps in case a potentional client wants to talk to you for a possible deal.

  • Start by checking this pretty collection of examples how-do-i-frequently-asked-questions_t63692

You can also try this section https://www.scirra.com/tutorials/top

You can also search the How do i forum section with many helpful resources if things fail.

And you can even try animate the boss with Spriter which can import with it plugin the animation directly into construct2 http://www.brashmonkey.com/spriter.htm good for specifying body part weak points and animating the whole boss movement routine.

As for the lifebar, how about something like this? how-do-i-life-bar-to-each-zombie_t100797

The bullets should have a bullet behavior to start with. It would be a good idea to check the manual section to learn the behaviors and expressions used in the game engine. Perhaps this all would be a good "start"

  • cool thanks! That method makes things much more simple, just too bad the typewrite effect isnt added to the text object and ust be added in that funny left and len code

  • example:

many games use this type of automatic typing style of text display and so far I saw only one sample that was too complicated to understand how it was made.

It would be neat to have a behavior or the action that could activate for the text to display like in the exsample

  • liaeb To be honest, I don't really know. My friend only introduced me to this software few days ago and her teacher claimed its to be like it was recently free. Eather way, I think its still worth to mention its existence

  • Id like to share SharePoint designer that is now free to use for anyone who wants to make a neat web page layout to display their html5 games in. It works little like Microsoft word

  • What you really need to worry about is if its really a tool you gonna be using for your purpose. If you can make games with it that makes money then the price is more than acceptable even for a young student. Just go ask your parents to buy you one as birthday and christmas present by convincing them that its a very good investment.

Also by buying the license you help the developers a lot, they deserve reward big time! But if the price is still too much for you then just wait for a good sale offer to lower some percentage off it.
