  • I personally don't like Gimp, as the interface is kind of cluttered and the layout is much different to Photoshop (which is the industry standard). Also, the mod that changes the interface to look more like Photoshop is several version behind.

It's certainly not terrible for free software. It's just better suited to Linux, which is what it's intended for.

When I am away from my own computers, I use: http://www.sumopaint.com/home/ - Which is entirely online.

Well, that is your opinion. Im Vista user.

I personaly think the interface makes it only better as you can edit your workspace by puting together the Dialogs of each function you prefer for your work as you like. You could for example watch a movie while drawing on one screen at the same time ^^

Also a big plus is the commercial use in Gimp and it is always under develoopment.

I tried out that SumoPaint now and to be honest, in my case it got a big minus as it has no pen presure function. Even in pixel drawing for making sprites it has horrible quality...

The brush options are verry poor and making it online only can be difficult to use when you got no net. It doesnt has much functions compared to gimp. Also it doesnt look like you could use it for things like commissions. Just personal, non-commercial use.

Sorry if I sound kinda heavy but thats simply how i see it.

  • How about Gimp? I use it for ages for any graphical needs, including gif animations

    http://www.gimp.org/

It is also free, open source and almoust just like photoshop

  • Thankyou for this nice example. It gave me the basic idea how to work with bone animated objects

  • Try Construct 3

  • Im not sure yet if this already works but how about instand preview changes?

When you work on big level and lets say,you start the test gaming and at the end of it you find a glitch or the character cant reach the platform or something.

You migh not like to fix it and restart the whole level all over again to get to that point.

So it would be nice to have something like a refresh button function that would keep you in same position with the new made changes.

  • Ugh... paying a percentage off the earning after reaching the limmit or any at all is what makes me uninterested in buying a product in the first place. It is only extra complication for the creators of the program to get the money. The license you seem to point out like the unreal pack is more for companies than proffesionals.

But you could question yourself, do you make this program for game creators, or just to get money out from everywhere posible? Its not easy for me to explain...

You see, I for example am a freelance animator and not only purchased but also crossgraded to toonboom animate PRO2 mainly, because aside of tools that i need, its license after purchasing it once, allows me to use the program for anything i want without any further dealing.

And that is what i preffer on a product that i pay for.

  • It is too bad that you put one of the best open-souce programs into the category of Another program that has to be paid. Good luck with all the licensing and stuff.

When i found out about this program,I was shockt how well it is made and that by programers who spend free time on it!

Im still a noob but I already got a big grinn over it so I do believe the next version CS2 will be good as you promise.

I hope it wont have atleast such rediculous restricting license like game maker...

Will it be available trough paypal by the way?

  • Looking at it again it doesn't seem to use up as much vram as I originally thought.

You can keep the vram usage low by making the canvas smaller scale.

For a layout with a size of 2560x1920 and a canvas 1/8th (320x240) the size of the layout ~6 mb vram is used in this example.

tiger tiger everywhere haha i love the example indeed

I was wondering, is it posible to make objects like enemies or items appear in the light but invisible in black and grey areas?
