  • Is there anyay to download a font from the web and then install it so the font of my game will be shown?

im not asking for webfonts becuase if im now mistakes you would need to download the webfont for every text object in your game wich is a hassle, i want to make the download once, and then the font file will be in the players pc.

    and i dont like spritefonts

what i do, is save the game at the start, and so when you want to reset the game (lest say the player goes back to the menu) you just load the save state you did at the start and the game will load to as in the begining, even if the persistent objects will be reseted.

  • well, its true that that would be awesome, but you can make it with the logic tht c2 has right now, using dictionaries or even arrays makes it possible

good luck, and dont hesitate to ask in the forums for any problem you have, this community is golden

  • i have wondered the same thing, i made some assumptions like

single instance = only one instance of your game can run at the time so you cant have 2 games running

window frame = takes aways the frame (minimize, maximize and close)

    kiosk mode = ???

  • i got some interest on game maker, since im familiar with using code, and in that departmen is great, and the fact that you can export for PS3,PS4, and native its great, but my game has great art and the visual part is a big part of my game, hence the necessity of a good layout editor, and i must say the way the game maker level or "room" works, its hideous!!! its really terrible, i think the way the editor works right now its for games totally tilemap based, pure squares, and if you look at games made with game maker it keeps truth to my hypothesis, games like hotline miami , dont get me wrong the games is really good but, in the graphics department its really lacking, all games made in game maker needs to be made in a grid, and thats sucks.

but C2 has an editor that its more like using photoshop, you can stretch, move, turn around and multiple selection with all your objects. And c2 in the code department might not be as powerful as game maker, so far of all the games made with game maker, i have not seen anything that cant be done in c2 aswell, so with this in mind, i stick with C2 since i have already master it and its really powerful. if someday i need to make a game for PS4 or Xbone i rather use Unity.

  • very impressive, thanks!

Opening the capx file in a soft like winzip, export all the files (it makes the hierarchy like a saved folder), open the .caproj file in the notepad and modify the line with the tag "<saved-with-version>" to a number that correspond with the previous version you're trying to open the project in.

Save the caproj file and open it in C2 it should work.

  • Hi everyone!!, i hope you are doing great

see, the game im making with my partner, its almost ready for the release of a demo, and before this, i will start a Devlog, but before that i need some help with infromation about IP's

see, my boyfriend has worked until he swets blood in our game's art, and it will crush our lives if we start our devlog and revealing our work for everyone to see and test and someone steals the art that my bf worked so hard and makes it his own, and since we are people of limited wealth, we cant afford a lawyer or pay the official registration of our IP.

is possible to someone to registrer our characters before us?, im worried and kinda paranoic.

can you guys tell me some recommendations about this?
