  • I am impressed, did you do your graphics or you collaborated with someone? very nice I am impressed.

  • Sweet, simply sweet, gotta love it good job Quazi

  • I don't care what people say about Crysis series (And Far Cry except FC2) but those FPS game's are very fun and I enjoyed playing them, they're not just get in the face of your enemy but you have to use stealth and a strategy to successfully kill the enemy, FC1 was alot of fun in that, I played Crysis and I enjoyed it tough it felt easier then FC1 due to the nanosuit but alas I hope Crysis 2 won't disappoint me, the teaser look's interesting.

Funny enough I noticed many nextgen game's are being based on waistlands ever since Fallout 3 maybe even S.T.A.L.K.E.R, like take for example Bionic Commando that's just one, so far Mirror's Edge was a nextgen game that wasn't so dark and bleak.

  • Look's challenging, fast paced and fairly difficult, I might give it a shot.

  • Guyon I am not a 3D modeler or anything, I used milkshape to create rather crappy model's that looked like Rayman on steroid's for a moddable game, they were crap compared to real model's so I can say I used milkshape for hobby and to create some lame models thats all, it worked fine in animating and everything I have to say so but the model looked crap, it's probably me because I am no expert modeler just a hobbyist.

  • UDK is not for everyone, surely not for guys like me running a Pentium D , 2GB ram and a ATI Xpress200 graphics card

    you forgot to mention these-

blender- it has a built in game engine and it's pretty easy to use

crystal space - it was used to create the game "Yo Frankie!" (not for beginners)

can somebody mention the limitations of Unity free version?

Blender modelling program is a pain in the butt to use, I tried to use it as a modeling program and I understood nothing, I prefer Milkshape 3D over it anytime, Blender is good for being free but it's far too hard to use, is gmax just as hard?

  • Atleast 3DRad is now free, it used to be shareware or commercial in 2004 or 05 I think, 3DRad look's good.

  • Yes and I am discussing about non-programmer's engines too they are rare but exist, Unity3D may be the easiest programmers engine tough but not the best, the best would be either CryEngine 3 (Used by Crysis 2) or Unreal Development Kit.

  • Just out of curiosity did you use a different version of Construct to make your game's before you switched to a different build or you're using the same build that you made those game's with?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

Try Now Construct 3 users don't see these ads
  • I forgot to mention you have to press a keyboard button or on mouse click (I think I will do it with mouse click) for the next strip to show up not on a delay.

  • Yep and Construct GUI look's similar to MMF, I felt it similar to MMF the first time I opened it and still think of it like MMF especially event editor GUI look's more or less to MMF

    What?

OK beside's the checkboxes the GUI does sorta make me think of MMF still.

  • What I mean is like in Max Payne, have a music playing at the background as well as they appear in order usually when you click or press a button.

Minus the text boxes, the text in my comic strip is already written on the image, I do intend to put sound effects as well on the comic strips as well (as one strip has an explosion)

Now I think I know how to do this but my use is by using global variables (it worked that way) but I believe there must be a simpler way to do this without needing to use global vars or am I wrong? anyway I also tried if intro2 > visible = intro3 make visible but it didn't work because all the other strips turned visible before they all should.

The images are tiled background's btw so I used start of layout "image 1" "image 2" etc... set invisible.

  • > If that is indeed a shot of their GUI then yeah I'd have to agree with that one. But it looks so similar to Scratch that I can't help but wonder if it really is just a shot of Scratch.

    You weren't kidding!

Yep and Construct GUI look's similar to MMF, I felt it similar to MMF the first time I opened it and still think of it like MMF especially event editor GUI look's more or less to MMF, anyway those 3 game's were fun imo but they should do more, I still doubt it will be as good as Construct in 2D tough but it's pretty early to tell, I do like the feature to create game's that work on web tough, I hope it will also be possible to export them as .swf but Stencyl isn't the only one that can make game's online MMF2 can export .swf file's as well with the new flash plug-in, I am not a fan of making game's online tough.

  • That warning is fake, you can safely ignore it as there is no virus on the forums, silent walk is an fps game creator, not as good as retribution engine imo.

I just found some new ones

Reality Factory = A basic 3D game making program, comes with many programs to develop content for it, they are working on RF2 but nothing is much known about it yet.

Ray Game Designer 2 = A very early 3D game making tool, very unsupported and it's an early beta too, abandoned long ago so what you get is a very early build of it, the author used it to create Turbo Lode and Pumpy game's himself.

  • These are 2 3D game creating programs that I know of and not everybody know's about them and I'l share them on this forum for those who are interested.

Plutonium3D - It is said that this program will be like Game Maker or Construct but maintains focus on 3D, I don't know if it's still being worked on or not tough oh and btw there is no public release/beta of it yet but it was started quite recently.

    P3D Concept

Retribution Engine - Similar to P3D but made for FPS game's only, the quality is similar to Quake 2 or Half Life 1 but it feature's many possibilities of single player FPS game's and making levels with trigger's to make easy cutscene's, this program is final and the author no longer support's it, the last version has been released last year and there will be no update's on it anymore, I have tried this program and it is very easy to create fun FPS game's with it, no multiplayer support tough, it was going to have it at one point but it was abandoned.
