  • The beginning for Construct games website, good luck with it, love to see it fully operational.

  • I want to make a possibility of time travel layouts where you can change time at will and the position and everything else stay there/detroyed if you change trough layouts, this means the player immedietly appears in that position of the layout from where he teleported from the present, kind of like Sonic CD, is this possible in Construct and how? so far I have never seen this and I have a game idea with using something like this (except this one is shifting between the real world and the demon world for a horror game I have in mind)

  • I'm not really good at python tough so how should I make a python video?

Anyway does the AVI plug-in having any priority or it is low priority on the Contruct development right now?

  • I want to make an .avi animation but once it stops it goes to next layout, the current video plug-in in Construct beta version doesn't have anything that detects if the video ends it proceed with event's, is this being worked on?

  • Try Construct 3

Develop games in your browser. Powerful, performant & highly capable.

  • True but as we know it, day by day technology is improving fast

  • Until I see that "engine" running online with 20+ players all firing shots at each other, I don't trust it. They have no physics, characters or traditional effects (other than some flickering shadows and lighting).

I prefer the Id Software approach. Taking the technologies we use today and making them more efficient.

My brother saw this video and he said all graphic cards one day have to end one day to be replaced with this engine and whatever may come in the future, this engine could be the future of next-gen 3D gaming engine and the reason it has no physics and anything is because it is a prototype, this engine may bring a new meaning to 3D, now I don't know if I am correct on what I said above tough but from what I understood from it that is what I gathered, I do look forward for this and it is nowhere close to be used for a game right now.

  • Well with fangames I am referring to Sonic, Mario, Megaman, Street Fighter and the such not the retro ones, the retro fangames are cool tough.

  • I am aware that this topic is old but I don't think I should open a new topic for just this question.

Are fangames allowed? or they are just as bad as the Ghost Shooter clones?

Should you prefer a fan game or a game with original and crappy graphics? example my crappy E.V.E X game)

So far I can't draw crap hence I stick to fangames and/or sprites.

  • Yeah the bad new's is the 3D box plug-in will end up malfunction with new releases, I'm not sure but is the 3D box plug-in gonna be removed in the future? or is Ashley working on it or will work on it when Construct 2 comes into development?

I read somewhere that the 3D box plug-in is obsolete and somewhat not supported, it's just to test out the limited 3D power of Construct.

  • If you mean programming an A.I. for the enemy then that's a whole different thing, fighting games ask for some serious A.I. to make a proper opponent.

So far I never learned to make an A.I. for both Game Maker and Construct, Construct even less since the program is new to me unlike Game Maker which I was used too until I decided to leave it in favor for DX9.

  • With the screenshots to me it looks another jump n run platformer game atleast in my eyes but the game itself is good but then again taking good screenshots can be hard, I know when I made my old games in game maker I took screenshots at random, 1 of the title screen and the rest gameplay, up to 4 in-game screenshots ofcourse videos would be more interesting (if this game doesn't have a video already)

either way I played it and liked it, great job so far.

  • Bad screenshots but great game, in other words it's a "don't judge a book by it's cover" game, this game feels like a classic with great enjoyable gameplay and retro music, I would like to know how did you do the backgrounds in the game, did you use some mode7 code or something? or just layers? in the first stage the roof of the background scrolling looked very cool and I would to know how is that done.

btw did you compose the soundtrack/music for Splynch or you hired someone to do them for you? same goes for your previous game on your website.

Also you use costume movement for the playable character?

Last question, will the full game be free or you will end up making it shareware?

  • All your game's so far haven't disappointed me, this is no exception, the bleak and dark atmosphere of this game keep's it more interesting, great game Jonas, so far I haven't experienced any error.

  • What version of Construct am I supposed to be using? I am using the unstable build and I cannot get in the shuttle by pressing space, I checked your code as well and it should work as intended but I'm having this problem with your .cap with 0.99.84.

  • Just some screenshots of a game that possibly have no future, I haven't continued it in 4 months, It's supposed to be the finale to the ZoniK series I made with Game Maker, this one is supposed to make some use of Construct's power with DirectX9 effects like realistic water and whatever else I might have used.

There is no in-game screenshot, I haven't even done that yet and I don't know if I ever would.

As you can see on the first screenshot that was the intro cut-scene, everytime you click the mouse a new strip get's visible until the next layout in which case there isn't one, the game is supposed to be your typical Sonic game with ZoniK as the main character, adding to him some special powers Sonic doesn't have like some sort of Hadouken or something else.

Another game I was working on and was far on development that there was gameplay (this one isn't made by Construct, it's a standalone mod of an FPS game known as Sauerbraten a.k.a Cube 2) is Gunmetal but I don't think anybody cares about it here, I may pick it up if I feel like it tough, Gunmetal had more potential in me altough the game engine is severely limited on SP unless you know programming but on the upsides it is a very good FPS game engine with a hella lot of nextgen graphics for a free game.

What I am thinking to do with this (ZoniK 4) is either continue it or work on something else, gunmetal also had a prequel known as E.V.E X done with Game Maker, I may work on a sequel to it with Construct.
